  • Care Homes Owned by Cornwallis Care Services Ltd
Cornwallis Care Services supports and cares for more than 300 people in its residential and nursing homes across Cornwall from Looe to St Ives.

Staff look to make improvements wherever they can and are never satisfied with the status quo. It ensures that everything it does is continually reviewed. Staff get regular feedback from residents, their families and visitors.

Staff help residents to live as independently as possible by being attentive to their individual needs. This ‘person centred’ approach enables staff to see life through the eyes of each resident, working with them and their family to understand their personality, preferences and background so that the care home can create a care plan that fits around their lifestyle and aims.

Exceptional, compassionate end of life care Dad and our family.
We are forever grateful to the wonderful staff at Hendra Court for the exceptional care they gave Dad during his final days. They treated him with the utmost dignity, respect and tenderness, which brought us immense comfort.
Beyond looking
after Dad, the team wrapped their arms around our entire family with endless warmth, patience and compassion during our most difficult moments. It takes truly special people to do this work, and they are absolute angels. Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts.

Moving my husband of 50 years into a carehome was the hardest decision I have ever made but it was made easier beacuse of Karenza Care Home. It has a good feel to it, and the staff provide my husband with excellent care and treat him with dignity. They have also provided myself with support and care
during this difficult time.
My husband has settled into Kerenza so well and this is because of the staff and facilities. His room is a very good size and is kept very clean.

My beloved wife is at peace and at home here. The staff are simply wonderful, and she has her own room, which has within it all she needs. She particularly loves the fact that people are passing and popping in all the time, which makes her feel part of the 'real world'. I have always found her happy
and content, which means that although she doesn't want me to leave, I can do so knowing she is loved and really cared for. Thank you, Meadowbrook, for what you do, the way you do it, and for making this review possible.

Dad's experience at Beech Lodge was difficult initially, but during time became easier for him. He didn't enjoy the meals, but mainly due to his dislikes of most food.
During his final months, Dad received exceptional care and dignity, we, as a family, valued the support from the staff.
He always
praised the staff and said they couldn't do enough for him.
Reply from Kirsty Williams, Admin at Beech LodgeThank you so much Wendy, your feedback is truly valued and Dad's presence will stay with Beech Lodge forever. Sending love to you and your family at this difficult time.

My father moved to Addison Park in 2020 and has been very happy here. The care he received has been exemplary, in recent years his health declined and his care adjusted to suit his more complex needs. I have always been informed of any issues and when he passed away at the home recently he was treated
with dignity. I would recommend Addison Park to anyone considering residential care.

My mum has been at the home for nearly three years. Overall experience is good. Staff are always welcoming and friendly, and any medical issues seem to me dealt with efficiently. Mum always looks clean. My sadness is that she sleeps most of the time or doesn't understand things anymore. She is always
in bed, so does not interact or take part in anything anymore, she just exists. She does not get any treats like other residents, and she can't feed or drink sufficiently, rarely seems to get anything other than at main meal times. Her room could do with a chair for visitors, as her own was disposed of after scabies.
Reply from kirsty williams, Admin at Beech LodgeThank you for your feedback, we will ensure there is a new chair in mums room asap. Regarding the other comments we would love to discuss this further on your next visit to try and alleviate some of your concerns. Kindest Regards Beech Lodge.

Mum is in the home due purely to old age, 98. She is not a difficult person to look after generally but I think all people of this age can be a little difficult at times when they don't want to do this or that and it must be difficult for the staff day in, day out doing this job, they must have so many
patients. I must say that apart from the patient, all of us visitors and family get a first-class welcome and treatment from all the staff and management each time we visit. Overall the room and facilities are good and clean and the food varied and well prepared, so couldn't really ask for much better care and attention.

Staff are always helpful and friendly when I visit and I feel the care my auntie receives is wholly appropriate for her needs.
Communication by phone is clear and requests for aunties needs are polite and respectful.( eg: new slippers/pyjamas required).
Life is really busy and I don't visit as often
as I'd like but I'm not made to feel guilty about that when I do manage to get there so appreciate that.

On the whole I would say my Mum is well looked after, and her health seems to have improved which is good. The staff are very attentive, and my Mum loves the interaction she has with them. The staff team are always helpful, and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble when you ask them anything. The
home is generally clean, and I have never noticed any smells, it would be nice if it could look a little more homely, but I appreciate that could be difficult. The home always keep me up to date if anything is happening with my Mum, and they are easy to contact if I need to ask them anything. Thank you

Friendly staff and mum is looked after very well. There are a lot of activities that take place and there are visits to the home by nursery groups, singers and hairdresser. My mum loves having her nails painted and every week these are done. Mum has now moved to a better room where she can look at
the birds, squirrels and wildlife. Also she has a view of the trains which she likes to watch.

I am sorry it has taken so long to review
My brother in law Mark was a resident with Rivermead since 2019. Sadly he had severe early onset dementia.
I would just like to say that your staff were amazing the way they treated him with respect dignity and kindness
He passed away on 24th November
25. With his daughter by his side. I was lucky to stay with them (and my daughter) for a couple of nights. The staff could not have done anything more for him or us.
I was thinking of which staff to compliment but actually every member of your team were exceptional
Thank you
Noreen

The staff are incredible, highly trained, caring, professional and very 'smiley'. The atmosphere at Rivermead View was a sight to experience, and to feel. Well done to all the

My wife, Joanne and I are delighted to have found this wonderful place in Penzance.
Now that she has been moved to a nicer room in the smaller Annexe building, things have become even better.
You ask that we do not mention individual staff members by name, so suffice it to say that they are all ministering
angels going above and beyond the call of duty.
I look forward to attending your meeting on the fifth of this month.
