Needing respite care quickly for an elderly relative, Mearns View was the choice.
The staff were kind and attentive, and nothing was too much bother in the settling-in process. During this time, it was decided to make the placement permanent as another family member needed nursing care. Again timing,
placing, and conditioning were excellent. The comfort and beautiful surroundings are apparent, but the quality of the management and staff were the deciding factor in the decision to stay.

Lewis has been appointed as our Head Chef. Lewis has worked in the catering industry for over 30 years in Scotland. Lewis has worked in various hotels, restaurants, production kitchens and care homes. Lewis loves to cook, especially comfort food with good produce. Lewis lives local to the care home and when he isn’t standing over the hot cooker, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and watching sports.


Lewis loves to involve the residents in the planning of the menus to ensure that everyone is catered for.

Her main passion is delivering exceptional dementia care and palliative care. In her spare time, Jane enjoys walking her dogs, hillwalking with her partner, gardening, cooking, and baking. Jane is also trained in martial arts.
