I cannot conceive of a Carehome that could give better care to a loved one than that offered by Morningside Manor. They looked after my sister, Fadwa, in the last three months of her life with the greatest of expertise, empathy and dignity. When the time came, they facilitated a calm and painfree passing
with the greatest of care. Even in challenging circumstances, the professionalism and care they showed was above and beyond what we could have ever hoped. The staff are all experts in their field, always happy and smiling and really inspired confidence. Furthermore, they also take care of the needs of the family, leave a lasting impression in our hearts and a desire to maintain a connection. The home itself is beautifully appointed, bright and tastefully decorated with spacious en-suite rooms. It is spotlessly clean and secure. The gardens are beautiful and expertly cared for. I highly recommend Morningside Manor as the ideal place for your loved ones to see out their final days

My dear sister died peacefully at the end of November 2025 in Morningside Manor with her family around her.

From the moment we experienced this care home, it was clear that the staff genuinely care about the residents as individuals. They show remarkable patience, kindness, and humanity, particularly

when supporting challenging behaviour. The team will do everything possible for the residents, including advocating strongly to ensure that the best medical care is provided. The home is excellently managed, and families can have complete confidence that their loved ones are in safe, compassionate hands. I cannot recommend this home more highly. Spotlessly clean too.

I think that there is a high standard of care in this home, appears well-staffed and well-run, wide range of activities for residents to participate in, home is beautifully maintained & spotlessly clean. Staff are welcoming and approachable & have a good rapport with my father. He is very settled
and happy in the home.

Mum moved into the manor in April and the staff have made every effort to help her settle in and make a new life. All areas have been carefully considered from daily activities and entertainment to her special diet and nursing care when she needs it. Mum finds it difficult as a very private and independent
person to accept help from others but the staff at the Manor have been so kind and caring that she has grown very fond of them. She says things like "xxxx would give me the moon" (I've omitted the name as it would be unfair to name one person! If I started to name names it would be a long list of carers, nurses, chef and laundry staff)
As we go towards Christmas the manor have made so many plans to make the festive season special. Today we had a festive afternoon tea with mum. It was exceptional and very much appreciated as it's good to feel we are still making happy memories

Mum moved into the Home in late September until she passed away in June. We always found the home and surrounding areas spotless, the laundry staff made sure the correct clothing was returned and if anything went a miss they would search for them. The management team were always available to answer
any queries whether by telephone or email. Every month on the notice board would be a list of activities available to the residents Mum took part in several of these during her stay and thoroughly enjoyed them. Mum enjoyed the Xmas afternoon tea with her granddaughters and although quite ill at the time spent a lovely couple of hours at the Summer picnic with the staff, residents and their families. Every member of staff knew Mum by name, they were very patient, caring and attending to mum with dignity also were a great support to the family. We can't thank them enough for everything they did for mum while she was there.

I was invited to join my aunt and cousins for a Christmas afternoon tea. As our aunt is bed-bound it was hosted in her room. It was a wonderful experience and the staff made us all so welcome. Thank you to all the staff.

I visit my aunt in Morningside Manor on an unannounced basis and am thus so impressed with the level of care maintained. All staff are so helpful, friendly and attentive to all needs. Nothing is too much to ask of them. The home has a lovely feel and positive energy as soon as you enter. I was lucky
enough to be invited to my aunt's Christmas afternoon tea last week. The food, presentation and service was truly wonderful. Thank you to all for doing an amazing job. It's such a relief to feel my Aunt is in good hands.

My mum moved into Morningside Manor in early October and I am so pleased with the care she receives. The staff at all levels are so kind and really make an effort to get to know my mum and encourage her to join activities where she can. We went to a festive afternoon tea in a quiet lounge today just
for Mum and a few families and the delicious food and effort that went into arranging that were really appreciated. I feel we were really lucky to get a room in such a supportive caring home. It's also exceptionally clean and "new" and efficiently run- everything you ask about is followed up. I would recommend this home to others, it felt like a good place on first viewing and has exceeded what I hoped it might be like from that visit.

Over the last 5 years, I have had two relatives living in Morningside Manor. The levels of care are exceptional from every member of staff. Great care is taken to get to know people as individuals and nothing is too much trouble to allow residents to live as they choose.
The rooms and communal areas
are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The food is nutritious and varied with alternatives provided if requested. Drinks and snacks are always available. There is a daily activity programme and regular outings. There was a summer family picnic and individual Christmas family teas at which a fabulous spread was provided.
Without exception, members of staff are caring, cheery, approachable and very helpful. Any minor issues have been promptly and efficiently dealt with by the excellent management team.
I am extremely happy with the level of care my relatives receive at Morningside Manor and would have no hesitation in recommending the home to other families.

On behalf of our family, I would like to say a huge thank you for the way all your staff helped our Mum celebrate her 90th Birthday.
She had a fabulous time on her actual birthday on Tuesday and again on Sunday with a wider group of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A special thank
you for the party on Sunday to two staff members for all the decorations, balloons, and organisation and to your Chef for the lovely party food and special 90th birthday cake.
A big 'Thank You' to all the staff involved in making my mum's birthday week so special, they are a huge asset to your wonderful Care Home.

I can't speak highly enough about Morningside Manor. The most recent example being the Hawaiian-themed summer picnic which was a resounding success. Each visitor was warmly welcomed and handed a colourful garland to wear which set the happy tone of the afternoon. Due to wet weather, it had to be held
indoors but it didn't stop everyone enjoying themselves. The live music was very popular with everyone singing along to many familiar songs and there was also some dancing from visitors and staff which was great to see. The picnic food and drink were delicious and ideal portion sizes. The staff are exceptional and such a good team, moving around the room chatting to the residents and their family members or friends. A lot of hard work and effort was obviously put into organising the picnic so a huge thank you to all the staff for a wonderful time.

The love, attention and care my aunty receives from the Morningside Manor team is very special. She is treated like a queen, and it is like she's living in a five-star hotel. Always being pampered, her hair and nails beautiful, making her feel amazing. They really do go above and beyond - just last
week, they arranged a wonderful Christmas high tea for her and the family in the home. It was very special in a stunning setting with amazing food. Extremely thoughtful, and we all thoroughly enjoy making magical memories. Thank you! Five stars plus!

Morningside Manor is now my friend’s permanent home and she invited me to her Christmas high tea party.
I had a lovely afternoon with her friends and relatives. We were in a beautiful decorated private room with Christmas music playing in the background. We started off with Christmas crackers and
fizz followed by an amazing selection of savoury and sweet deliciousness. The lovely staff were on hand all afternoon to bring us fresh tea and coffee. Well done and thank you Morningside Manor a real treat to be invited

My friend for whom I am a welfare carer has been a resident for four years.
I have given a review in the past and before lockdown so, it seems appropriate to update it.
I cannot fault the standards of the staff at all levels. The quality of the care. The social entertainment especially picnic teas
in the garden and wonderful afternoon Christmas teas.
The staff deal with all sorts of problems and, they do so with a smile.
If you are reading this review and you have a family member that finally needs care please consider this or any other of the four Lindamann Homes in Edinburgh.
I am confident the food etc is acceptable. I have joined for two meals in the past and they were fine.

My mother, who has dementia, has been in Morningside Manor for almost five years and has just celebrated her 100th birthday. This length of stay is a testament to the quality of care she has received. The staff go out of their way to look after her and even organised a wonderful party in the home so
that the family could celebrate her milestone birthday with her. We could not be happier with our choice of care home.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.832)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.832) out of 10 for Morningside Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.982 for Morningside Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (161 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 164 Ratings = 4.982
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Morningside Manor Care Home is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
