Overall Experience

A lovely modern bright clean diner/lounge that invites all visitors and residents alike to sit and chat. The staff are friendly and attentive. A small garden with picnic tables and pots of flowers very welcoming. I'm visiting in the Oldham annex today and what a delight to be able to say that.

Overall Experience

Very impressed with the standard of personal and nursing care at Shaw Side both before and during the COVID-19 crisis. Dad has been well-fed, well looked after and fussed over by the staff. He is generally contented and relaxed and sleeps and eats well. He has regular baths and always looks clean and well-groomed. Shaw Side has been free of coronavirus for several months, which is a great relief - the residents and staff are tested regularly and wear personal protective equipment to maintain a virus-free environment. Visiting has been restricted during the pandemic, as in all care homes, but despite this inconvenience, the staff have done their very best to keep us up to date with dad's health and wellbeing and we've been able to enjoy window visits and occasional garden visits, depending on the council guidelines. The staff work as a team, they are very caring and have a professional attitude. Dad is in good hands.
