Arkwright House

from Karen G (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 May 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our dad has been at Arkwright House for 18 months now. As we'd cared for him at home for many years, we initially found it difficult to give over his care to the carers. Now, as we look back, we can appreciate the faultless support and care Arkwright House give our dad. They have adapted their excellent
care to ensure dad is fully supported as his needs change.
We are able to relax in the knowledge Dad is happy and content in an excellent home with caring and professional carers. In Arkwright House Dad receives the kind of care we aimed to provide him ourselves, and we want for him now and in the future.
Amazing, dedicated staff,
Round the clock, excellent care.
Kindness, empathy, patience abound,
Wonderful atmosphere of family,
Reliable, professional, trustworthy carers.
Inclusive activities, exercises, singing and trips.
Great camaraderie from staff and other residents,
How a care home should be,
The gold standard of care homes.
Reply from Bernie Lewis, Home Manager at Arkwright HouseIt means the world to us that you feel confident and reassured in the care your dad receives at Arkwright House.

Knowing that you now feel able to relax, trusting that your dad is happy, content, and receiving the same level of love and support you always wanted for him, is the greatest compliment our team could receive.

Thank you again for recognising the commitment, patience, empathy, and professionalism of our team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother is now in her 8th year at Laburnum, over which time we have always been more than happy with the loving care that she receives, not only from the carers but all members of staff. Over this time my mother's dementia has progressed to a point that she no longer really recognises me bit when
she sees any of the staff her face lights up with the biggest smile and always want a cuddle and kiss from them. Due to personal circumstances, I am in the process of moving a considerable distance from her but with the knowledge that my mum will be more than well cared for and loved at Laburnum. IF you are looking for a lovely home for a loved one, I would highly recommend visiting and considering Laburnum for that place.
Reply from Edelyn Napa, Home Manager at Laburnum House Care CentreThank you so much for your heartfelt review and for trusting Laburnum with your mother's care over the past 8 years. It means the world to us to hear how much love, comfort, and happiness our team brings to your mum each day. Seeing her smile and knowing she feels safe and loved with our staff is incredibly special to us all.
Thank you again for your continued support.

Acacia Court

from Amy D (Niece of Resident) published on 6 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Aunt, with dementia has been in respite care for the last few weeks in Acacia Court and the difference the Manager and staff have made to her have been honestly remarkable! She has gone from being a very agitated and angry lady to a very happy and contented one, loving dancing and interacting with
other residents. Dementia is a horrible disease but we can't believe the quality of life she's found in Acacia Court despite her illness. This is all down to Lyndsay who is amazing and the lovely staff. They treat the residents as family and individuals and go above and beyond in making them feel at home and happy and making their lives as normal as possible, even trips to a cafe and shopping! I couldn't wish for a better place for her to be and she hasn't asked about her own home once in her time there! Thank you for giving my uncle the peace of mind knowing she is happy and well taken care of. Thank you Lyndsay, you are a very special person!
Reply from Lyndsey Rafferty, Home Manager at Acacia CourtThank you so much for your lovely feedback. It's lovely how your Aunt has settled in and the positive difference the team have made to her wellbeing. Supporting residents to feel happy, engaged and at home is exactly what we strive for, and it's great to know this is shining through.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Myself, my mother, and Lexi one of the carers visited the Pub for a meal out as a treat for my mother. The carers got my mum ready, chief amongst the Cloes, Nicky, and most of all Lexi, who accompanied us. She was good company throughout and was very pleasant. The next day, I returned to visit my mum
at Hampton, where we were amply provided for by Janet and the day staff.
My mother is being looked after very well; her needs are being met. However, some days are better than others for her because of the nature and severity of her illness. Despite this, she is responsive, and you can still have a conversation with her.

The staff, amenities, and level of cleanliness at this care home are of exceptionally high quality. My mother has expressed a great deal of satisfaction with her experience and

Abbotsbury

from Helen H (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 April 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am delighted by the care and support my mum has received since moving to Abbotsbury in January this year.

As a family we have found the staff to be very kind, supportive, encouraging and they show mum wonderful respect and warmth.
Small things can mean so much and in particular I was very touched

that when I needed to take mum to a hospital appointment (her first time leaving the home since moving there) on return the staff member opening the front door said to mum 'welcome home' Just a couple of words but so kind.

Mum arrived in a very vulnerable position in her life. From the moment we contacted the home to now 2 months later I am delighted with mum's progress. She's a different lady. She laughs again, she's eating properly, joins in the activities which she was adamant she never would.

Karen, Andy and all the team are very supportive to both mum but also me. They knew how difficult this was for us as a family but their support has been wonderful.

Reply from Lyndsey Rafferty, Home Manager at AbbotsburyWe are truly delighted to hear how well your mum has settled into Abbotsbury. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that she is now laughing again, eating well, and engaging in activities she once felt she would never take part in.

Your kind words about the staff's warmth, respect, and encouragement are especially appreciated. It is wonderful to know this had such an impact on you and your family.

Your comments about Karen, Andy, and the wider team will be shared with them, as we know it will mean a great deal. Thank you.
