My mother has been a resident at the home for five-years. The staff are friendly, attentive to my mother's needs and professional. There is also consistency with limited turnover of staff, which is unusual in this sector.

The home's manager arranges social events and entertainment for the residents

and their families. My mother recently celebrated her birthday and the staff decorated her room, sent cards and provided balloons and a birthday cake. They then gathered to sing 'Happy Birthday'. This extra effort is greatly appreciated by me and the family.

A well led and well run care home.

Reply from Lyndsey Rafferty, Home Manager at Acacia CourtWe're delighted to hear your mother has enjoyed five happy years with us and that our team's care, professionalism, and consistency have made a positive difference. My mum has been a resident within Beech House for over 2 years. The care staff are amazing. Mum is very well looked after. Her needs are taken into account and she receives 24/7 support. I am kept informed of any changes, any medical requirements and also receive follow-up calls from medical staff,
when required. All the staff within the unit are friendly and attentive to all their residents. Events are celebrated within the unit, i.e., Chinese New Year, Easter, Xmas and the communal room decorated, encouraging all to be involved. Selection of activities could maybe be increased. But overall I believe Beech House to be a lovely place to be looked after.
Reply from Lisa Casey, Home Manager at Rowan Garth Care VillageIt's lovely to know our celebrations and community spirit make Beech House feel like home. We also appreciate your comments regarding activities and will take this on board as we continue to enhance the experience for all residents. Thank you

In April, I visited a friend at Acacia Court, she is now a resident there. I was greeted warmly by a member of staff and took me to see my friend, soon after I was offered tea and biscuits when the residents had their afternoon cuppa. All the residents seemed happy and content, having good interaction
with the staff, who all had a sense of humour and amazing dialogue with each person. I experienced laughter and fun, this seems to be the very essence of the home. Great staff and manager. Would recommend.

My Aunt, with dementia has been in respite care for the last few weeks in Acacia Court and the difference the Manager and staff have made to her have been honestly remarkable! She has gone from being a very agitated and angry lady to a very happy and contented one, loving dancing and interacting with
other residents. Dementia is a horrible disease but we can't believe the quality of life she's found in Acacia Court despite her illness. This is all down to Lyndsay who is amazing and the lovely staff. They treat the residents as family and individuals and go above and beyond in making them feel at home and happy and making their lives as normal as possible, even trips to a cafe and shopping! I couldn't wish for a better place for her to be and she hasn't asked about her own home once in her time there! Thank you for giving my uncle the peace of mind knowing she is happy and well taken care of. Thank you Lyndsay, you are a very special person!
Reply from Lyndsey Rafferty, Home Manager at Acacia CourtThank you so much for your lovely feedback. It's lovely how your Aunt has settled in and the positive difference the team have made to her wellbeing. Myself, my mother, and Lexi one of the carers visited the Pub for a meal out as a treat for my mother. The carers got my mum ready, chief amongst the Cloes, Nicky, and most of all Lexi, who accompanied us. She was good company throughout and was very pleasant. The next day, I returned to visit my mum
at Hampton, where we were amply provided for by Janet and the day staff.
My mother is being looked after very well; her needs are being met. However, some days are better than others for her because of the nature and severity of her illness. Despite this, she is responsive, and you can still have a conversation with her.

I am delighted by the care and support my mum has received since moving to Abbotsbury in January this year.

As a family we have found the staff to be very kind, supportive, encouraging and they show mum wonderful respect and warmth.
Small things can mean so much and in particular I was very touched

that when I needed to take mum to a hospital appointment (her first time leaving the home since moving there) on return the staff member opening the front door said to mum 'welcome home' Just a couple of words but so kind.

Mum arrived in a very vulnerable position in her life. From the moment we contacted the home to now 2 months later I am delighted with mum's progress. She's a different lady. She laughs again, she's eating properly, joins in the activities which she was adamant she never would.

Karen, Andy and all the team are very supportive to both mum but also me. They knew how difficult this was for us as a family but their support has been wonderful.

Reply from Lyndsey Rafferty, Home Manager at AbbotsburyWe are truly delighted to hear how well your mum has settled into Abbotsbury. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that she is now laughing again, eating well, and engaging in activities she once felt she would never take part in.

Your kind words about the staff's warmth, respect, and encouragement are especially appreciated. It is wonderful to know this had such an impact on you and your family.

Your comments about Karen, Andy, and the wider team will be shared with them, as we know it will mean a great deal. Thank you.
