Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since arriving at Acacia Court in late December 2024, my elderly mum has flourished and honestly looks years younger. She has been in ill health for years and came to the home permanently after a particularly long stay in Hospital and honestly the improvement is staggering. She was unable to walk or
stand up - she is now shuffling about the place with her walker again. She was unable to do anything except sit and doze, she's now back reading countless books, doing her puzzles, taking an interest in life again and knitting and crocheting for the Annual Summer Fair! Its all testament to the lovely care environment she is in. The staff are all positive, proactive, and friendly and they care about their residents. She is extremely well looked after, is 'fed and watered' with a huge variety of meals. Her meds are issued properly; hygiene, health and general wellbeing monitored too. I cannot praise the management and staff enough and would highly recommend this home to people considering.
Reply from Lyndsey Rafferty, General Manager at Acacia Court

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and uplifting review. We are absolutely delighted with the progress your mum has made since joining us at Acacia Court. It means the world to us to know that she is enjoying her days, regaining her independence, and finding joy in reading, puzzles, and contributing her wonderful knitting and crocheting skills for our events. We are truly grateful for your recommendation and for entrusting us with your mum's care. We will make sure to share your lovely feedback with the whole team - it will mean so much to them.

We have got their latter than advertised, the staff could not of been more helpful.

My mum mum has only been at Acacia Court for 2 weeks, but can see the difference in her already. More like her old self. So far can't praise the staff or the management highly enough. Trust it will continue. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and the staff certainly look like they care about the residents.

The new manager introduced herself. A very kind, warm, friendly and approachable person informed us of a future coffee morning: how nice. During our visits we've been treated with respect, everyone is very courteous, gentle full of empathy and compassion for the residents, and nothing is too much trouble.
(Not seen activities as visits are only 1 hr). Can't comment on previous, been ages saw her once in over 12 months, can't comment on food (not there at meal times) very happy with care.

Today Saturday 31st May was a garden party and what a fabulous event it was. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The organisation that went into setting up this event by management, carers, kitchen staff, maintenance, church, volunteers was amazing. Gazebos, banners, balloons, games for children
of family, stalls with plants, burgers, coffee, cakes, strawberries and cream, tombolo, raffles and more. Singers that were amazing. My Mum is living and being cared for here and we took her into the fabulously beautiful huge garden to join in this fabulously special day. It truly was beautiful. Thank you to everyone that made this day so special.

My brother has been staying at Acacia Court for approximately 15 weeks. He's very frail and tends to stay in his room despite the best efforts of the staff! He is very stubborn. Each time we visit, the staff are courteous and friendly. They're so caring with my brother and are happy to help. The food
looks great and he eats everything served. Today is VE Day and there is a tea party following a little entertainment. Acacia Court is very good.

Mum has been living at Acacia Court for just over a year now. Over that time, we've experienced some ups and downs with her health, but thanks to the manager and her wonderful team, Mum has settled in really well.
The staff are always friendly, approachable and willing to answer any questions we have,
offering support whenever we need it. It's so reassuring to be welcomed by a smiling face every time we walk through the door.
A huge thank you to the manager and the whole team for the care, kindness and support you continue to show,

My husband went into Abbotsbury, it saved my life as he was very violent, they saved my life and I had a lot of help from staff at Abbotsbury. I can not thank them enough and one was my rock, she is a lovely person. I am sure he will be there because of staff but one is my favourite because I have watched

The staff at Abbotsbury are kind and caring generally. They treat the residents with respect which is always good to see. The food is mostly home cooked which again is a positive aspect and the cakes are delicious, the chef not only makes good food but also has a great relationship with the residents,
taking the time to chat. I feel that maybe there could be more activities provided but on the whole I'm quite happy with mum's care.
