Overview

The Review Score of 8.1 (maximum of 10) for Acacia Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Acacia Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.5 for Acacia Court is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.62 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Acacia Court is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 = 3.25

    2. Target of 5.4 positive Reviews (27 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 2 Reviews ÷ 5.4 Target = 0.370

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

8.1 Acacia Court has a Review Score of 8.1 (8.120) from 9 Reviews

Very friendly staff, all the staff including management and the medical team are very helpful. My mother has a lovely large room, lovely garden at the back, in which residents and families can sit out in.
They have a very good entertainment programme and a few times a year hold parties which include a BBQ in which resident's family and friends are invited.

My Mother went into Acacia Court recently. She has a large airy room, with excellent views. The home is nicely decorated and finished. It is light and welcoming as are all the staff.

My Mother is happy living at Acacia Court, which I believe is a good recommendation. The Manager works hard to maintain, and also raise, standards. She welcomes feedback from relatives and responds quickly to resolve any concerns raised. The Manager and her staff are friendly, kind and attentive to residents, and also offer support to relatives and visitors. There are regular activities each week, which are designed to engage and stimulate residents. My Mother particularly enjoys those activities involving music and singing. The entertainment arranged over the Christmas period was excellent. In the past year, residents have enjoyed a number of things, including an Easter Party, a summer barbeque and a trip out to Knowsley Safari Park. Families and friends are always invited to join residents and staff on all of these occasions.

The staff are wonderful, very caring and considerate, respectful and they engage with all the residents. There is good entertainment most days and the food is varied and well cooked. The staff keep family and friends well informed about their loved ones and about all that is going on at the home. They deal with situations promptly and communicate effectively. The staff are very kind and caring.

My mother has been a resident at Acacia Court for five years. During this time her needs have changed considerably. Regular reviews have taken place and changes made to meet her needs. Staff are friendly and helpful and keep me updated where necessary. The manager is very approachable at all times and very 'hands on'. I am very happy with her care at Acacia Court.

The staff are all very friendly and always have time for the residents here.
There are varied activities during the week to keep the residents active, shows are performed on a regular basis and are excellent.
My Mother in Law has put on weight since arriving at Acacia and we are very pleased with the home and its staff.

My mother, at 98 years old, realised she needed residential care along with her family. We chose Acacia Court where she was always been treated with dignity, love and respect. She is now 103 years old- she is completely immobile and has dementia but she remains there and continues to be treated with love and respect. All the residents now have dementia in one form or another. The staff on the floor remain patient and kind.
