I visited my nan at lunchtime. The kitchen staff wheeled a trolley into the dining area with a full English breakfast. All hot with every choice. Nan can't eat pork so she did not have the bacon or sausage but had beans, chips, black pudding, egg, mushrooms and toast. A lovely hot lunch packed with
variety.

My auntie has resided at Acacia Court for the last two years. I have always been impressed and reassured about the care she receives and especially how the staff members treat her with great affection, courtesy and dignity. Ideally, no one wishes to see their loved one in need of 24-hour professional
care but I could not be happier with the care my auntie has and continues to receive.

Acacia Court has provided my Mum with an excellent quality of care for almost 5 years. The staff are professional and caring and show true dedication to their residents treating them with dignity, respect, and understanding. The home has excellent facilities including a wonderful team of catering staff
that are always in turn to their resident's preferences, likes, and dislikes.
It is always lovely to see residents celebrate their birthdays with a song, cake, and canceled provided by the catering team.

After almost five years as a resident at Acacia Court, our mother passed away peacefully last week. Acacia was her home, and she was comfortable and well-cared for all the time she was there. As her needs changed over the years from settling in, to her final weeks, all staff adopted their care and routines,
always providing respect and support for our mum and for us as her daughters. Whenever we were visiting, we have appreciated the kindness and genuine care and support shown to all our family over the years. We couldn't have found a better care home for our mum, and can highly recommend Acacia to others.

She has always been treated and cared for by the amazing staff with so much love and respect, it's lovely to see the way they are with her. She is now on end-of-life care, and they are so kind and compassionate, making sure she is comfortable!
They are also very kind with me and my family when we visit.

My Godmother has been at Acacia Court since before lockdown and we have been really happy with all the care they have given her. We have calls from the manager if there is anything we need to know about and my godmother has been looked after by the staff really well. There is a lovely outbuilding which
was built since she moved there where I was able to see her when I visited.

My sister-in-law has been a resident since May 2022. We all feel very blessed that she is in such good hands at Acacia Court. The staff are wonderful and so cheerful at all times. We are relieved that she is happy and she tells us frequently how much she loves her room. Acacia Court is always spotlessly
clean and there is a warm and welcoming feel to the place every time we visit. She also tells us how good the food is! This is praise indeed as she worked as a chief catering manager for a large firm!

Really happy that my Aunty is a resident here. She loves it. After a wobbly start, feeling unsettled, the team have made her feel at home. She has been there now for over a year and has a lovely room overlooking the garden. She has bird feeders on her balcony and loves watching them. She also enjoys
the large garden when the weather is warm. I cannot fault the staff. She is so well looked after. They are led by an amazingly positive and knowledgeable manager whose kindness and humour shine through.
Reply from Lorraine O'Sullivan, General Manager at Acacia CourtHi Suzy, wow, what a review. Thank you so much for your comments I will certainly pass this information on to them, they will be really overwhelmed. As you know I like to make all residents welcome and yes, I do like to have a laugh with them, I feel it makes not only their day but mine. A smile on their faces speaks volumes. Lorraine.

Mum went into Acacia in April, she has settled in well and seems to love the team. She is well cared for and always looks clean and tidy, she has her hair done, her clothes are well looked after and I know she is safe. The Manager keeps me up to date with anything and she has made new friends. Dementia
is a cruel disease but I know mum is safe in their hands. If possible and without too much disruption to mum, I would love she had a cosier room, although looking out with big windows it seems less homely and this is the only thing I would change. I know this may not be in mum's best interest now as she will have got used to her surroundings but if she can cope then if they had a room a little smaller it may benefit her as she does comment about it when we take her home for Sunday lunch every few weeks.
Reply from Lorraine O'Sullivan, General Manager at Acacia CourtHi Linda, thank you so much for your kind words, I will pass them on to the staff. As for a smaller room, I will speak to mum and see what we can do as and when a smaller room becomes available if this is what she would like. We are all here to ensure that all residents are happy and comfortable. Kind regards.

The team at Acacia Court are wonderful carers. They take care to understand the resident's needs and do the best they can to make sure everything is in place. The senior management team have the relevant experience and is always happy to discuss medication or events. The staff will ensure they communicate
if there is an issue and provide updates regularly. Also, they help me understand what might happen if there are issues relating to the condition. My view is that I am grateful my partner is in a safe environment.

My wife has been a resident for some 2 1/2 years and is well looked after by all concerned. It has been a difficult 2 years due to covid but despite this, Acacia Court has had very few cases due to the safety system. As things get back to normal I hope to see the return of more activities.
Reply from Lorraine O'Sullivan, General Manager at Acacia CourtHi Graham,

Thank you for your kind words. I agree it has been very hard over the past 2 years but as things start to change we hope this will be better for residents and loved ones. Activities have always been a strong point here at Acacia and we have carried on regardless. We are now encouraging outside activities to Acacia. We have a fantastic day coming up in May which I hope you can attend. I will pass on your appreciation to our staff as I know they will be overwhelmed. Lorraine

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.879)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.879) out of 10 for Acacia Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.879 for Acacia Court is calculated as follows: ( (315 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 355 Ratings = 4.879
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Acacia Court is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
