The staff was very much liked and highly thought of by my late father in law. I personally witnessed caring and good practice while visiting him. Care provided was tailored around dads likes and needs, and friendly approach made him feel cared for in more than just meeting his needs bases. Staffs dedication to deliver high quality care was evident in all aspects, including personal care he received, meals, hygiene in environment and his mental and emotional interactions with staff. Rakewood is well managed and run, and as a family, we will recommend Rakewood for those in end of life.

My partner came into the home late Jan, was worried she would not be happy, but the lovely carers immediately helped her settle, always a smile and a chat whilst going about their work (nothing too much for them). The nurses are professional and reassuring.

First contact was friendly and efficient. My appointment with the manager went well, and my husband was admitted two days later. We were all made to feel most welcome at a difficult time. The entire staff are friendly. It was 30 degrees outside, but inside was cool, calm and quiet. His room is clean and bright, overlooking the well-kept garden. Whenever I visit, he is spotlessly clean and comfortable. He reports having slept well, and I am confident of his safety. The meals are excellent and served with courtesy. Medication is administered punctually, never rushed. Always treated with dignity, kindness and patience.

Rakewood is a safe and secure place for mum. It offers 24-hour round-the-clock care, and I am happy to say it's provided. Clean every time I visit, and nothing is too much for mum. The staff are always helpful. If mum is poorly, we are always informed immediately and always kept in the loop. The management team understand mum's needs, and this is critical for her support. Highly recommended.

Care of mum has been excellent, she was made comfortable and seems content. They take great care in looking after her when taking her for a shower. Mum is moved regularly so bed sores do not appear. Staff interact with the residents, cannot fault any of the staff. It gives us great comfort that mum is looked after.

We are pleased with the care given to my husband at this time. I bring his meals in myself. When he was having meals here, the food was often cold, but the carer was more than happy to heat it up. Staff are very obliging whenever asked to help, i.e change pads.

After experiencing extremely poor care at another home in Rochdale, I made the decision to move my beautiful mum to the Rakewood unit at Carders Court - and it was the best decision I could have made for her. From the very beginning, the staff were simply amazing. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure Mum was cared for with dignity, compassion, and respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
The nursing staff were outstanding - always attentive, responsive, and ready to adapt to meet Mum's changing needs. I visited her daily and was always made to feel welcome. I even decorated her room to make it feel more like home, and it gave me peace of mind knowing that when I left, she was in such capable and loving hands.

Mum spent her final seven months at Carders Court before passing away in February. While it was an incredibly difficult time, I am forever grateful that she was surrounded by such dedicated and kind-hearted carers. She was truly treated like family.

My wife was at Rakewood House for several weeks and she and I found it to be best she has been in. It is well run and the attention given is quite simply the best. I have no hesitation in recommending this nursing home to anyone who seeks a comfortable home with superb attentive care. Beware there are lots of places that are awful so choose with care.
