My Dad came into Windermere in April and from day one the staff have been amazing. I felt confident every time I left that my Dad was being cared for and looked after. Sadly I lost my Dad at the beginning of June and the compassion shown by the team was so lovely. They were kind and supportive and really
cared for my Dad right up until the very end always showing him dignity and respect. They looked after me too, always offering me tea and biscuits and being supportive on the hard days. I am so very grateful to them all.

After a traumatic conversation which resulted in hospital admission, I was more than glad to see my brother back at Windermere.
Here he is well looked after with extensive care. The problems coming from his hospital visit will soon be rectified now he is safely home.
We look forward to enhance entertainment
shortly. More suitable to the type of residents, not children.

I stayed for Sunday lunch which was a leek and potato pie with garlic bread. It was served piping hot, well-presented, excellent portion served by a member of staff with great grace and care - as if in a proper restaurant. Best of all, it was full of flavour - lots of cheese! Pudding was pineapple and
cherry cake with custard - delicious. A lovely day - thank you chef and staff!

Right from the start of our experience with Windermere, the staff were all clearly dedicated to their residents and to ensuring their stay was as enjoyable as possible. They were very kind to my mother while she was there and always patient and understanding, with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble
and the overall ethos was relaxed and easy-going. The staff were keen for residents to be able to enjoy all of the many facilities and to have the freedom to do as much they they were able to while they live there. The management were always very understanding and helpful and responded to queries very promptly. The overall standards and the setting of Windermere House are lovely.

The gentle, kind and peaceful attitude of the staff is backed up and provided by a diligent professional manager. The home went to great lengths to ensure that Mum was cared for in the best way possible way. Most of my contact was with the manager. Regular phone calls and updates on Mum's progress and

I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the home. I can't recommend Windermere House enough if you want the best care for your loved one. I visited every day and my partner was always clean and comfortable. I was always made welcome any time of the day. The staff allowed my partner to keep
his dignity. They were kind, compassionate, caring, tirelessly hard-working while being totally professional as a team. The room was always clean and bright. We are so grateful.

I do not recommend Windermere House. My daughter was there from January to March 2024. It's such a shame that a negative review cannot be written as it is rejected. By only allowing positive reviews for care homes this does not reflect on the care your loved ones will receive and how unfair is that.
My daughter was not looked after while at Windermere House. We had to supply all equipment that she needed and trained the staff how to care for her. They advertise that they cater for brain injuries, the staff are not adequately trained. They also advertise hydro pool but this never had water in. My daughter was not treated with dignity or kindness. She is a young woman with two young children and had a stroke after her second daughter was born. The manager restricted the children's visiting times which was not fair or kind. Please don't be fooled how clean the care home is. It's behind the scenes which is hidden.

I found the place very clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful and polite. The facilities are very good and we make plenty of use of the salt cave. The management is very understanding and caring.

Very friendly and kind staff. It is very reassuring to see my father settling into his new surroundings. Today is Fish and Chip Friday, a lovely meal rekindling many childhood memories. His room is surrounded by nature and songbirds.

My husband was in Windermere House House for end-of-life care. He was always treated with the utmost compassion and dignity. His room was bright, clean and modern. Everyone was very professional and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were always cheerful and available to help if there was a problem.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Windermere House.

Always greeted by friendly staff. Always made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for our brother. Although his stay was short and sweet it was most enjoyable for him. Even down to the chef visiting in his room to find out his likes and dislikes with food.

Mum was so well looked after in the short time she was in Windermere House. All the staff were very caring and professional. The home is very clean and has some lovely facilities. Although this care home is a little out of the way and you need transport to get here the manager and staff are second to none. The manager listens and takes onboard all of your concerns and worries and puts procedures in place so that the resident is safe and well cared for. The staff who care for
the residents are all amazing, always have smiles on their faces and talk to the residents with such care and respect. My dad has settled so well here, not one urine infection where he had one after another before, they are helping to sort a wheelchair and he has nothing but good things to say about the staff. He has been taken into the local town and the garden centre. If you're looking for a care home for your loved ones definitely consider Windermere House.

My uncle has been cared for, for under a year at this facility. We could not hope for better care at this Home. The staff are not just helpful to my uncle but to my family as well. They welcome us at every visit, which is encouraged.

My Mum is so happy here, she has a great rapport with the manager and the team and they really understand her and her needs. She has always been very well cared for, as are we as a family - always kept well informed and up to date of her care plan and any appointments or concerns they have. The beautiful
grounds and surrounding wildlife make it such a lovely environment for my Mum as she has access to these surroundings and being outside in the fresh air regularly. The little trips out are always lovely to hear about too, even just to the garden centre is such a lovely thing to do as it is a nice change of scenery. Thank you so much for looking after my mum, we are so grateful for all that you do for her and always making it possible for my family and I too.

My partner of 42 years has been a resident for more than one year. The management and staff are the most caring and considerate people we could ever wish for. The staff are so very helpful to both my partner, myself and my children. They keep us informed of everything that is happening to my partner
i.e.doctors appointments, dental appointments etc and always invite us to attend if we wish to. My partner is offered outings at least once a week to the shops or park or garden centre and is so well looked after whilst on these excursions. The home is kept immaculately clean and the food provided is second to none, all freshly cooked on the premises with a great choice of menu. I can only say this is probably the best care home we have ever seen and would recommend it to anyone needing a care home for themselves or their family.
