My mothers care has been very good, the staff have been very supportive kind with mum and myself. I felt very supportive in mums final days and throughout her stay. Mum enjoyed the entertainment/activities and if there was something that could be worked on I'd say activities at the weekend. Would recommend
this care home to friends and relatives. Thank you for her care.

It was a privilege to care for her, and we are so glad to know she enjoyed the activities while with us.We really appreciate your feedback about weekend activities. That is something we will certainly take on board as we continue to improve the experience for everyone. Have not had many problems - my only concern is some of my friend's clothes seem to go missing - he wears items that are not his - clothes are kept clean by laundry. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Some days are not good for visiting. Soft menu food does not seem to vary - can be boring.
My friend is happy there - it is hard to get to as I don't drive and am disabled myself - can only visit every other week. Covid regulations have been well maintained.
Reply from Tanya Surtees, HR Administrator at Woodroffe Benton House

Thank you for your review, we really appreciate it. We are pleased that your friend is happy at Ifield Park. We are sorry to hear that you have concerns your friend is wearing clothing not belonging to him and his clothes are going missing. We have looked into this, as we were not aware of your concerns prior to this review. All our residents' clothing is clearly labelled, and we take considerable care to ensure they have their own items of clothing only. Your friend accepted the offer of some donated clothing and we believe that these are the clothes that you are referring to. Your friend has full capacity and can make decisions regarding this. I hope this alleviates your concerns. All our menus change with the seasons and are nutritious and well-balanced. We have options that our residents can choose from daily and encourage them to choose a variety. If you have any further concerns, please speak with a member of staff during your visit and they will look into them immediately.

Ifield Park Care Home (Woodroffe Benton House) have supported, reassured and cared for my mother over the last two years. The frightening transition of losing her memory has been kindly supported. The Covid-19 experience facilitated visiting when possible and recognised the benefit of familial social
interaction to individuals with memory impairment. The staff are kind, caring and positive in their behaviour. I have been very impressed with their care of my mother.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the excellent care shown to our mum during the time she was at Ifield Park in Woodrolfe Benton House. This was of particular note in her end of life care where her increasing needs were attended to with the upmost kindness and compassion.
As a family, we too felt looked after and supported. We send a huge thank you to all the staff who have helped our mum over the last 2 years.

I was quite worried about finding the right care home for my mother, but I needn’t have been. My mother is very happy there and well cared for, which is the important thing. She always says how good the food is. The staff work very hard and are very friendly and welcoming.

My mother was unwell and I received a call from the staff to advise me of Mum being poorly. I went straight to the home and they were so helpful and caring for both Mum and myself, nothing was too much trouble. They were all so helpful, it put my mind at ease to know that my mum was being so well looked
after and notifying me at all times they were amazing. Thank you to all.

Current Review Score: 7.7 (7.726)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.7 (7.726) out of 10 for Woodroffe Benton House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.583 for Woodroffe Benton House is calculated as follows: ( (7 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.583
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.143 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodroffe Benton House is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 7 = 0.143
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
