I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years working my way up from care assistant, senior, Deputy manager, Home Manager then up to a regional manager. I have worked with different levels of care from residential to Mental Health and have completed all the relevant training to go alongside this. I have completed my level 5 in management and enjoy being a manager as this enables me to manage and support the team to deliver a high level of care to the service users.
I started my career with Prestige in 2022. Initially, I started as a health care assistant, so I learned the role from the bottom up. I enjoyed this role that much, I wanted to progress to the next role, which was a senior health care assistant, where I achieved my NVQ level 3, dealing with professionals, families and learning about medication administration and policies and procedures. I enjoyed this, but again I wanted to progress to more, so I went on to achieve my Care Home Assistant Practitioner certificate, where I worked alongside highly trained nurses and gained more skills, including wound care, catheter care, diabetes management and more advanced medication training. Once I had been in this post for a while, I was given a great opportunity to become a Unit Manager here at Yew Tree Grange.
