Riverdale Manor Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I visited Riverdale Manor seeking residential care for my mother, having seen a number of other settings, and I knew from that first visit that she would be exceptionally well cared for.

It was a big step for Mum as she had lived independently but following a number of falls, was no longer safe on

her own.

Mum has been a resident now for nearly a month and she is very happy and comfortable. The whole team have made sure that her needs were met from the first day. They took time to learn about her before she arrived meaning that Mum felt instantly at home.

Mum is reassured that she doesn't have to worry about waiting for help, which had been a problem previously. The team are extremely attentive and patient.

Riverdale Manor really feels like home, family and friends are equally welcomed.

What makes it truly special is that I no longer have to worry about Mum and her safety. I know she's being cared for as if she was family by the entire team at Riverdale Manor.

Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at Riverdale Manor Care CentreThank you so much for your wonderful review of our care home. Mum I know was apprehensive about moving to a new care environment and the team have worked very hard to ensure she feels listened to and respected and used gentle reassurance to give comfort. It is lovely to see her settling so well with us and its wonderful to see her enjoying some activities in the home and slowly growing in confidence. Mum is a fabulous lady with a brilliant sense of humour and the staff and other residents are very much enjoying having her join our family at Riverdale. The whole home team work so hard to ensure that every resident who chooses to live with us feels happy and content. Its fabulous to receive your lovely review as this very much reflects the whole compassionate ethos within Riverdale. Once again thank you so much for your compliments, I will ensure to share with the whole staff team.

When Dad wasn't able to return home after a spell in hospital we visited a number of care homes. None of them felt like a good fit until we walked through the doors of the wonderful Riverdale Manor. Riverdale Manor is a beautifully decorated, purpose built home which is spotlessly clean, spacious
and comfortable. More importantly the manager and staff are excellent Every member of staff I have met has been professional and caring and have treated dad with patience, dignity and a sense of humour. Communication is good and as family we are included in decisions being made about Dad's care. The care offered to him is second to none. The transformation in him in just a few weeks is remarkable. They have got him up on his feet, lifted his spirits and got him engaging in activities. We can rest easy knowing that he is being well looked after. There is always a warm welcome when we visit and staff show us genuine care too. I couldn't recommend Riverdale Manor more highly.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at Riverdale Manor Care CentreThank you so much for your lovely review of Riverdale Manor, we very much appreciate your wonderful compliments. Our home is very beautiful and we are very proud to care for our residents in such a fantastic environment. However, our staff are really our greatest asset and as you say are so compassionate and kind and will always go that extra mile for everyone in our care. Your dad is a fabulous gentleman and a real pleasure to support. It has been absolutely marvelous to see him blossom after a long stay in hospital and really start engaging in the many activities within the home. He has truly thrived and continues to make great improvements in his daily life with us and we are very proud of his personal achievements and progression. Once again thank you for trusting us to care for your wonderful dad and I will ensure to share your review with the staff team.

Both of my in laws are now residing and being cared for here. My mother in law has been in nursing care since October 25 and her care has allowed her to improve following discharge from hospital. Carers annd nursing staff are friendly and listen and act upon any concerns we have . Her great grandson
on seeing her improvement said ' they have fixed her ' . When her husband needed to move into residential care it was a relief to us that they had a room available for him. There have been good days and bad days along the way but we know that the home is committed to supporting them and us in managing their needs . The home management iare approachable and really know about the needs of residents and strive to ensure that very high standards are maintained. It is pleasing to see high levels of commitment and compassion amongst the whole team involved in providing the care individuals need.

Went to Parkville to visit my husband's cousin. When we arrived we were at door a staff member answered very friendly and smiling. She showed us to cousin's room and asked if we would like a cup of tea or coffee, so polite. Our cousin was so happy, he told us he loves living here, he loves the staff.
Went to the manager's office to ask how he was doing, and they were great, door was open, and they invited us straight in and were so happy and polite.

From the day mum moved to Merlin Manor she has been given the greatest respect and care as if she was the staff's own family. Recently her health deteriorated and the support and what I can only describe as love was shown to mum and myself was amazing.
The attention and support she was given at a
time when she was at the most vulnerable time of her life showed no bounds. Anything she needed was provided in no time; taking care of her needs and wishes. Staff working in care homes rarely get the recognition they deserve for the hard work and effort they put in when caring for residents. I have the greatest respect for team Merlin and would like to say a massive thank you to them for their care and support.

Our Mother was in Roseville for the most part of 13 years. She passed away in January aged 96. During that time she has generally received excellent care. During her final weeks, that care has been exceptional. The very genuine carers, domestic staff, cleaners & maintenance personnel were wonderful
to both my mam & the family who kept a 24/7 vigil by her bedside. We can not thank the Roseville team enough for making, what is always a very difficult time, as bearable as possible.

Caroline, the activities lad,y is amazing. She knows all the residents and their families and friends. She always includes us in her daily activities. I sometimes feel she is putting so much effort for nothing as she sometimes gets no interaction from the residents. This doesn't deter Caroline though,
she is always upbeat. I was visiting my mum just before Christmas and we all had to pick an elf's name. What a laugh we had. I used to be a catering manager for a large care provider and went to 103 of our homes. I've never met anyone as enthusiastic as Caroline. She's a ray of sunshine.

My father in law has been here about six months now. Everything about this facility is positive in my opinion:

Staff - Kind, Patient, Friendly and Understanding.
Facilities and Building - Welcoming and inviting to visitors and family members alike.
Food and Dining Areas - Excellent, Comfortable,

Well laid out.
Bedrooms and Living Areas - Comfortable and as much like home as you could possibly expect.
Entertainment and Social Activities - Excellent.

My mother in law has recently joined her husband (On a different floor as she has different needs) and she is settling in really well. I honestly can't say anything bad about Merlin Manor and it's always a pleasure to visit and see how happy my relatives are in there.
