I have 32 years’ experience working in health and social care, I have completed various of training courses and succeed to my current career.
I have been a registered manager for 20 years
Managing Services and supporting Individuals with Learning Disability Mental Health Elderly and Dementia.
In 2005 I gained my Registered Managers Award.
I am extremely passionate about my role and thrive to ensure the people we are supporting receive the highest standard of care.
I started my career path working in a solicitors at the age of 18 as office junior then in accounts after many years I decided I wanted to change career so went on to do home care, I had heard about Roseville as I had a friend who was a previous employer so applied as care assistant I started as a care assistant and eventually worked my way to a sensor, then asked to move on to the dementia Suite as senior after a couple of years working as senior I was promoted to unit manager I progressed my knowledge by doing as much training as I could. I completed my level 3 then went into do my level 5 as well as chaps after a while I moved back onto ground floor as unit manager and worked hard to gain a good bond with staff and residents. It has also been my desire to continue to develop in my career and I have recently been promoted to Deputy Home Manager at Roseville.
I have always had a passion for nursing and have over 18years experience working in the care sector both private and NHS. I first started out working as a domiciliary support worker, then worked as a care assistant in a nursing home to which I then decided I wanted to complete my general nursing degree. I then went on to work in an acute setting working with dementia and elderly care patients as a health care assistant whilst completing my nursing degree. When qualified as a nurse I began working on a busy admissions unit caring for unwell adults with acute and chronic conditions, to then A&E, working my way up to clinical sister managing life threatening, acute and chronic illness’s. I have lots of skills which I have gained during my time as a nurse and completed several courses such as reading ECG’s, advanced life support, clinical skills and leadership and management. It was then I decided that I wanted to enhance my knowledge and skills and take on a more managerial role working as a clinical lead in a care home setting.
I am very passionate about my role and always strive to ensure that the residents/patients in my care receive the highest level of care and support. I also feel that it is essential to include families, gain trust and build good relationships so that person centered care can be achieved at its best.
