In this superbly situated 77 room, large and spacious care centre, with wonderful, open access, very large gardens, where every need is the staff's pleasure.

Offering residential type care (personal care) and nursing care for people of 60+ including on their own floor, services dedicated to those living with dementia or related condition, will have a large en-suite facility with separate dining and living areas.

All en-suite accommodation on the ground floor rooms open directly onto the gardens, and with delicious and plentiful home cooked meals and a partnership with the Oomph charity assisting in the design of meaningful activities will be delighted with both the facilities and the care staff provide.

Registered manager Denise has built a very strong local reputation and was the manager of the 2015 end of life care home of the year winner.

I feel this is an excellent care home-I looked round multiple homes and was struck by the fact that the residents looked secure and content and the staff were not stressed. The staff are very skilled, person centred and handle challenging behaviour from residents protecting their dignity and quickly
diffusing with kindness. They have been amazing with my mum in the dementia unit-for the first time in so long my mum has enjoyed herself and been happy doing activities and chatting to staff! Staff are persistent with GPs in getting residents looked at and very aware in changes of behaviour or any symptoms that need to be addressed. They are patient, friendly and empathetic to the residents and families, I have visited all hours and the care is always great. The home itself is lovely but its the staff who make it so wonderful, I am so grateful to them for looking after my mum and making her smile again.

From the moment that he was admitted to Sandbanks, he was treated with care, compassion and dignity. The staff on the floor where he was cared for always went above their duties to help and this applies to the management team aswell. We were always kept in the loop as to the care and condition and when
he passed away his passing was in comfort and dignity. A wonderful place with wonderful staff.

All of the staff who were involved in the care went above and beyond my expectations in the care of my uncle. They were friendly and explained the changes in the care as the illness progressed. When he passed away they treat him with dignity and were very compassionate to the family. we couldn't fault
them at all.

I can't believe the change in my mum since coming to you. Initially, it was for two weeks of respite care. My mum loved it so much she decided to stay! The difference in her is just amazing she is a changed woman, she looks years younger and is happy and smiling. The staff are amazing and enable her
to take part in the activities she loves for example gardening, cooking and crafting. She has made friends with other residents and is having the time of her life. An added bonus is being able to see what she is doing thanks to the home's social media page. The family can't thank you enough.

When my sister needed end-of-life nursing care, we chose a home for her that would be capable of providing that care. We were not at all disappointed and she received the best of care right up to the end. My sister was a tricky customer, she had very specific likes and dislikes and took offence easily.
I was worried that she would not settle with you and that we would need to keep looking, possibly never find somewhere she was happy because it wasn't her own home. The whole family has agreed that every member of staff at Sandbanks went above and beyond to make her feel cared for and valued. Everyone from the nursing and care staff to the cleaners and the kitchen staff went out of their way to accommodate her. There was always someone popping their head in and stopping for a chat, she truly enjoyed hearing all about all of your personal stories and gossip.
She was taken from us far too soon, but I will be forever grateful for your part in easing her passing with dignity and love.

Amazing care home, clean and tidy. Staff are extremely supportive with both family and residents, helping to put our minds at ease. Plenty of activities for residents, as well as a spacious garden with pond and seating etc., can't praise them enough, especially the management team.

Mum has only been in Sandbanks a short time but my family and I are more than happy with the care Mum has received. All the staff we have come into contact with have been professional and caring. My mum is end of life but we can see she is settled and well cared for.

My Father-in-law has only been in the Mowlam suite for less than 2 weeks but my husband and I are both very impressed with the service provided. I have visited many care homes through work and my own parents both ended their days in care homes so I do have knowledge of this area of care. The staff at
Sandbanks are very caring and very professional. My father-in-law tells me that he is very well looked after. I was particularly impressed with the speed with which a UTI was picked up and antibiotics administered. There was a very similar situation in the hospital recently but it took about 5 days from deciding to test to start on medication. Keep up the excellent work.

The staff are all so very kind. My brother is dying and they have eased the pain and reassure all my family with their kindness support and empathy. This home is by far the best care home and I have myself worked in nursing homes for 23 years. They not only support my brother but all my family and have

My dad has been in Sandbanks coming up five years. The home is a lovely, caring home for all residents. The staff throughout Covid did an excellent job at keeping us informed throughout.
I am once again grateful to the home for employing an activities team which, from all the amazing photos, is doing
an excellent job and involving all who live there - well done to you all, this again is the best so far for all who get involved. Thank you so much; we really appreciate it.

My wife is a resident of Sand Banks Care Home. The care and attention she receives is absolutely excellent. The management, staff, cleaners, etc, are first class, and everyone is pleasant, understanding and professional in their duties. They are extremely busy at times and attend to my wife's needs
as quickly as possible. I know everybody is professional in their attention, service and understanding at the care home, from management and all the staff. Excellent - 100% satisfaction.

Residents' rooms are clean and tidy. Some visits have noticed things could do with a wipe... table/sink.
Just noticed over the past couple of months the garden is not cared for. Could be more accessible too.
Activities, days out? Not sure that I am aware of any involvement for residents. Mam was
disappointed with the Coronation atmosphere and had asked for someone to put music on. That was a shame when a lot of trouble had been taken to decorate the place.
These are only small things.
I’ve not made a review before.

I cannot praise the staff of this care centre enough. I will forever be in their debt because of the way they cared for my son. The way they fussed over him and cared for him was unbelievable, and I was so glad that he was sent to Sandbanks for his final months of life. He just could not have been treated
any better anywhere. If you are considering placing a relative into care, you cannot find a better place than this.
His mother and I stayed with him every night for his final week, and we were showered with affection, food and everything we needed to be comfortable... we were amazed. I would like to praise two carers, in particular... which I will do personally, but to be fair, all the staff were wonderful, and I will never forget what they did for my son. I honestly think this care home should be rated outstanding.

My mam was a resident at Sandbanks for four years until she passed in April this year. The staff are all so thoughtful, kind and caring. They were brilliant with my mam, who could be stubborn at times. Always made sure she was happy and comfortable, and she was. When she passed, it was made as loving,
comfortable and caring for Mam, myself and family members. I thank everyone for their help and support during Mam's stay.

My auntie is a long-term resident at Sand Banks Care Centre, and throughout her stay, we have seen multiple managers come and go, and by far, the previous manager and the current home manager are amazing; she is all about person-centred care and what is most important to residents. She makes sure that
every resident's needs are met; she is amazing with our family and extremely supportive. The vast majority of staff go above and beyond to make my auntie happy they supported her throughout Covid-19 when she could not have any visitors, and they became her family when she couldn't see us. They try to encourage her own independence as much as she will allow them to. I believe that Sand Banks would benefit from its own minibus where they can take residents out for day trips, and this would help the residents to socialise more and encourage them in activities.

I started training at Teesside university and have now been qualified for 23years. I have worked in care for most of my career and for the last 7 years, I have worked within Care Home Settings. I have worked in Hospitals, GP surgeries and Care Homes.
I enjoy nursing as no 2 days are the same and I am able to build up holistic relationships with residents and families within our care home.
