In this superbly situated 77 room, large and spacious care centre, with wonderful, open access, very large gardens, where every need is the staff's pleasure.

Offering residential type care (personal care) and nursing care for people of 60+ including on their own floor, services dedicated to those living with dementia or related condition, will have a large en-suite facility with separate dining and living areas.

All en-suite accommodation on the ground floor rooms open directly onto the gardens, and with delicious and plentiful home cooked meals and a partnership with the Oomph charity assisting in the design of meaningful activities will be delighted with both the facilities and the care staff provide.

Registered manager Denise has built a very strong local reputation and was the manager of the 2015 end of life care home of the year winner.

The staff have been great since my mother-in-law has moved here; she is deaf and lip-reads. The care home has made every effort to communicate with her; staff have shared the skills in sign language and used flashcards if needed. I find the care home clean and well organised.

Since being moved to Sandbanks Care Home a few weeks ago, Dad has settled in well. The manager kept me informed throughout the moving process, and the nurses and carers have worked hard to make Dad feel at home within a 'new family' environment. There is lots of room both in his room and the corridors,
which allows him some independence when in his wheelchair. The views of the gardens from his room are lovely. Various social activities allow him to join in with the other residents when he wishes to. I have been kept informed by the Nursing staff of any concerns and have always found the staff welcoming, caring, and professional. It gives me peace of mind knowing that Dad is safe, happy, and well cared for.

My mother was cared for at a time in her life when she really needed the highest standards of nursing care, and Sandbanks provided this and more.
I will recommend Sandbanks to anyone and am very thankful to all staff, but especially the manager and lead staff member who went above and beyond.

I find the care home to be very well run. The staff are very efficient and always act in a professional manner. The home is always kept clean and tidy by the cleaning staff who are also pleasant and happy to help, nothing is too much trouble. I have found that the residents are always treated well and
are kept entertained with a range of activities, keeping their minds active and helping to fill their days with fun. All in all, I am very happy with my mother residing in Sandbanks Care home and would be happy to recommend it to other people.

I cannot say enough about this care home. Great from the start to get my dad in. The manager is fantastic. He kept in touch with me throughout the experience and took an interest in my dad before he even met him. l had every confidence that my dad would settle after a bit of time.
He arrived on Friday
last week and was made a fuss of by the lovely staff, and to my astonishment, after 7-weeks of being so unsettled and confused, he has settled in the first day. He is loving his stay, and l hope this continues. Thanks to everyone at Sandbanks for the welcome he has had.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away on 4th February 2022 having resided at Sandbanks for approximately 6-years.
In her final weeks, I visited most days, including nighttime vigils. The staff were excellent, particular mention is deserved to the three seniors who all went above and beyond their duties
and working hours while trying to get additional care from doctors and district nurses.
I was truly humbled by the staff coming to pay their last respects to mother and the majority leaving in tears.
This proved to me that they are dedicated and extremely caring, treating my mother like one of their own family.
My mother would not have lived so long without the care she received at Sandbanks.
The majority of staff certainly became our extended family and gave their heart and soul to caring for residents.
I would like to thank all, past and present, staff for caring for my mother in her twilight years.

Just before Christmas, we sadly needed urgent respite care for my dad. Before he was admitted, the manager made a massive effort to find out as much as he could to help my dad, not just the factual information required but to find out who my dad was as a person, what he liked, what he didn’t, ways to
engage him, who/what they could talk about with him etc. I appreciated this greatly. For our family, it’s been a heartbreaking time, but I can honestly say that without the care, compassion and love of staff at the home, it would have been worse. I feel my dad is well looked after, he’s treated with respect, dignity, kindness and professionalism. When I’ve lost my way, they’ve picked me back up again, they never judge, they always notice, and they bring light back to those darkest moments. Staff have taken the time and effort to really understand my dad; my dad can be very unpredictable, but they respond to every situation with calmness and genuine empathy. Thank you.

It is now coming up 6-years since my mother became a Sandbanks resident. In that time, I have been regularly updated and consulted with her needs. She is a far healthier and a happier woman now than before she went in 6-years ago; this is undoubtedly down to all of the staff care in that time. It is
due to those carers and staff that I can write this now after all those years as it has been a "lifesaver". I can not thank or praise the team enough for this. I have not scored the categories lightly; these are from my observations etc.

As a daughter to my beautiful mam with dementia, I can't thank Sand Banks enough for the love, devotion and care they continue to give. The staff are always on hand to answer questions but also put your mind at rest when times are difficult.
Over these last few months, as a family, we have seen a huge
change in the home since the new manager has taken over - Sand Banks has become a happy and safe place to call home.

Mum has been in Sand Banks since September 2020. Although due to Covid, we've not been allowed in to visits, the staff, particularly the welfare team, have been doing regular FaceTimes with the family. We call to check on Mum every day, and the staff are always able to update us and are always pleasant
and complimentary about her.

Since Mam arrived at Sand Banks, she has blossomed. She seems to enjoy life again. The staff do an excellent job with activities all day, and Mam joins in with everything she wants to.
