Friends of the Elderly Woking Day Care

My mum (84) attends the Bradbury Centre 4 days a week and absolutely loves it there, always speaking with such joy about going. The staff are so caring, friendly, supportive and fun, and mum enjoys the companionship and joining in with the activities.

What a wonderful place to be for the elderly to be in touch with the outside world from there home. A safe, bright happy place. the staff really care and involve everyone in the activities of the day. Mum always loved going over to the coffee shop for a hot chocolate and doing the word search. Thank you for your careing ways with mum. She always felt special.

Mum (92) has been visiting the Bradbury Day Centre 4 days a week for over a year and I have nothing but the utmost praise for all the happy, friendly staff and for the support they have given her. I have visited several times, unexpected, and have found staff holding bingo, quizzes or singalongs. The atmosphere is friendly, supportive and totally uplifting. The staff have so much energy and they project so much happiness it's hard not to get involved with them.

My mum is Italian and, with her Dementia/Alzheimer's, has reverted to speaking in her original language - although she understands and speaks English! This did not diminish her enjoyment of being at the day centre at all. On the days she does not attend, she always asks when she is next going which is a really good indication to me that she enjoys her time there.

This day centre is absolutely wonderful. I would not hesitate in recommending to my friends and family.

We thank the Bradbury Day Centre Staff from the bottom of our hearts for all the great care they have given to both mum and dad over the years, it has been such a big part of their lives attending the Day Centre and has always been so reassuring knowing that whilst they were in the care of the Bradbury Day centre staff they would be well looked after, having fun, being well entertained and being fed and watered. Would highly recommend.

The Bradbury Centre is amazing, all the staff are so enthusiastic, professional and totally on top of their game when it comes to caring for a very vulnerable group of much-loved relatives. The group activities encourage engagement/interaction but nothing is pushed, the meals are amazing and it's a very bright homely environment, with great facilities. It's a great place for mum to be a mum and have her independence in a safe environment away from the constraints of her normal routine. As mum would put it simply brilliant!

My husband (86 years old) really enjoys coming to the Bradbury Centre. He meets interesting people and enjoys the various activities. It gives me time for myself. He also says the food is very good, especially the cakes. The Summer Party was great. Brilliant singer.

I was given a direct debit form which I duly filled in and returned to the manager of the centre. Over time my wife found that the centre was not to her liking. It was at this time I was told that we would have to pay 4 weeks of £64.30 as a retainer fee. I was sent invoices, which I assumed had been paid by direct debit which I filled in and gave to the manager. I subsequently received a bill for £900.20 which I queried with my bank and they told me that no direct debit had been received and the invoices had not been paid. I immediately phoned the care home and told them of the result of my findings. I paid the £900.20 by cheque. I was told that this was the total bill. Subsequently received a further invoice for £64.30. In my opinion, the management of the centre is extremely poor and be aware that you will be liable for extortionate fees if you are not made aware of the costs of leaving the centre.

(Due to Covid safety measures, I was unable to enter the facilities.) The Bustler Community bus does offer transport here within the borough, which was super as I work full time.

My review is necessarily limited due to the pandemic, I have had no access to the interior of the centre. My positive moments on stands, support and dignity are based on my interaction with staff outside the centre. All the staff I have met with or spoken to on the telephone have been facilitating, helpful and caring. My wife seems to enjoy attending the centre, enjoys the food and engages with activities as much as she can. Safety/security is good during the pandemic.

All staff at daycare are very supportive, kind and helpful.

My husband is very happy at the day centre, well looked after and I know that he is safe.

All of the staff are very caring and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Mum enjoys her days at Triangle DayCentre and looks forward to going. Would highly recommend.
