Since my mum started attending the day centre, she has truly blossomed. She is so much happier and really looks forward to going. Its wonderful to see her come home smiling & relaxed and she speaks so fondly of the staff and how caring & kind they are. The staff really are so incredibly kind and patient
and go above and beyond in their support, not only to my mum, but to me as well. They have been so knowledgeable, understanding and supportive around her diagnosis, which means more than I can say. The regular communication and updates are fantastic and put my mind at ease. The atmosphere is homely, warm, friendly and safe, with lots of laughter & singing! It's such a comfort knowing that my Mum is treated with such dignity & care. I am extremely grateful for everything that they do.

Our mother has now been resident at New Copford Place for 2 years, during which time she has been lovingly looked after by a wonderful team of carers. These people make it a pleasure for us to visit and we have built up a lovely, friendly relationship with them all.
The excellent chef, who was in the
kitchen when mum firstly arrived, moved on to pastures anew about a year ago and the food has definitely deteriorated since that time, which is a shame, but the food is still satisfactory.
Overall, we are very pleased that we chose New Copford Place for the next phase of our mum's life as we now know that she is receiving all the love and care that she deserves.

A well run and very friendly care home.
Lots of activities and staff interaction.
Rooms and communal areas very clean.
Mum seems very happy and is always smiling when I visit.
She does sometimes seem to be left in her room with nothing to do and the TV not switched on.
Lots of her clothing has
been mislaid and were several pairs of reading glasses.
There is a lack of communication between shift leaders and my intructions are not very often passed on to all staff members.

My relative came for a period of respite after being in hospital following a house fire. He arrived with virtually no belongings whilst we were trying to sort things out. The staff + management went above + beyond throughout his stay. They were supportive of myself too, as well as him, throughout the
entire stay. I cannot thank the team enough for everything. They made a very traumatic time so much better. Side note am told bed was comfy + food/coffee/cake were great!

Deciding that it's time to find a home for a loved one is incredibly difficult. You want absolute reassurance that they will be safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. Friends Place delivers all of that and more.

It is a modern, beautifully maintained facility with excellent amenities, something that

is increasingly hard to find. What truly sets Friends Place apart, however, is the staff. They are exceptional: compassionate, professional, and genuinely invested in achieving the best possible outcomes for the residents.

They have been incredibly accommodating of my mum's individual needs, giving me both peace of mind and the much-needed respite I was struggling to find. Most importantly, they have created an environment where my mum genuinely feels at home.

I am deeply grateful to have found Friends Place and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Reply from Alina Gutu, Care Home Manager at Friends PlaceThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We know how difficult it can be to make the decision to find a home for a loved one, and it means a great deal to us that you felt supported and reassured throughout that process.
We're delighted to hear that your mum feels safe, comfortable, and truly at home at Friends Place. Your kind words about our staff are especially appreciated - our team is deeply committed to providing compassionate, personalised care, and feedback like yours reinforces why we do what we do.
Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care and for recommending Friends Place so highly. It's a privilege to support both our residents and their families, and we're grateful to be part of your journey.

My mother has been here for 3 years. I have a good relationship with the staff who always keep me updated either by phone or email depending on the circumstances.
When visiting we are always made to feel welcome by all staff which is very much appreciated. My mother who has Alzheimers also says
how well staff look after her including the food.
Whilst it doesn't affect the star rating there is sometimes an issue with parking but there is a free car park 500 yards away.

Since my Mum first visited Friends Place for day care visits, the management & staff have been absolutely wonderful! They are empathetic, professional, knowledgeable, accommodating & friendly, truly exceptional! The care home is of the highest standard from décor to the layout and overall construction
of the building. The Friends Place "Team" are so welcoming and have already become an integral part of the local community and in such a short time which is testament to their dedication to ensure that residents & service users benefit and enjoy the support and services available. Special mention for Roz & Alina for being so attentive & caring at all times. My Mum enjoys her day care visits immensely and they have provided both me & my wife with much needed "break time" to recharge during her visits. Many thanks to all the Team for your support help & assistance, it's greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!!

On the 24th of February 2025, I was involved in a road traffic accident which sadly resulted in the loss of my right leg below the knee. Over the following month, I was treated and transferred between four different hospitals before eventually being offered a place at Little Bramingham Farm care home
in Luton.
Since arriving here, I have felt nothing but care and kindness, The staff are always willing to help, and everyone is friendly and supportive. The food is excellent and I feel both safe and truly cared for. I already feel very much at home here, and would like to consider this my permanent home. There are lots of different activities to take part in, and I also have the freedom to go out when I choose, with carers kindly offering to accompany me if I wish.
I feel very fortunate to be here. Everyone is wonderful, and I am deeply grateful for the care and support I receive.

All the staff at the day centre where my husband attended were brilliant. They are all very professional , yet really personal to my husband's individual needs. They reassured me and my husband loved going and looked forward to his visits. They were very attentive to every detail to make it a special
time for him and in turn made me feel safe when dropping him off. I can not thank them enough , you all work really hard and I really appreciated everything you did.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum was sent to Orford house originally on a temporary bases which has now become permanent. From the first time we met the staff at Orford they were all very caring. Mums health wasn't great when she first went there, the staff were really quick to get her the help she needed and keeping me and
my siblings informed. Any issues we have had have been taken seriously and we felt heard. Management have been great with advising us and reassuring.
Mum really is happy there and the staff really care for her.

We want to say that we adore your mum and Orford House wouldn't be complete without her being part of our family.
