Very well managed and caring home. From the moment we were shown around we felt at ease. The level of care from the staff was truly wonderful and we could easily see they genuinely cared about their residents. The food served was excellent, and there was a good variety of activities offered.

Mu husband received end of life care in The Bernard Surley. The staff were phenomenal and compassionate and dedicated, nothing was too much trouble. The home felt friendly and was a welcoming place for visitors in the final days.

Review of Redcot Residential Care Home from Daphne B (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 5 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The Care Home manager is excellent. She is always friendly, courteous and understanding of any concerns that we may have regarding my Mother-in-law who has been a resident there for 9 months. We are always kept up to date with any medication changes, kept informed if she is unwell and they are very proactive in their care. We know that she is in safe hands at this difficult stage in her life.

My Mother-in-law isn't very sociable, she is taken down to lunch each day which she enjoys but will not participate in any of the numerous activities put on for the residents. I know that we made the right choice by choosing Redcot which is our nearest Care Home.

Reply from Latasha Jarrett, Home Manager at Redcot Residential Care Home

Thank you Daphne for this lovely review and your kind words. It is our please to look after your Mother-in-law, and your input in to the home is very much appreciated and valued by all the residents you stop and talk to when you visit.

Review of Friends of the Elderly Woking Day Care from Liz S (Daughter of Resident) published on 5 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum (92) has been visiting the Bradbury Day Centre 4 days a week for over a year and I have nothing but the utmost praise for all the happy, friendly staff and for the support they have given her. I have visited several times, unexpected, and have found staff holding bingo, quizzes or singalongs. The atmosphere is friendly, supportive and totally uplifting. The staff have so much energy and they project so much happiness it's hard not to get involved with them.

My mum is Italian and, with her Dementia/Alzheimer's, has reverted to speaking in her original language - although she understands and speaks English! This did not diminish her enjoyment of being at the day centre at all. On the days she does not attend, she always asks when she is next going which is a really good indication to me that she enjoys her time there.

This day centre is absolutely wonderful. I would not hesitate in recommending to my friends and family.

As soon as my dad came to The Bernard Sunley Home he was so welcomed and cared for so beautifully. All the staff were amazing, their laughter, fun, care, reassurance and gentleness were outstanding. My relative came for a period of respite after being in hospital following a house fire. He arrived with virtually no belongings whilst we were trying to sort things out. The staff + management went above + beyond throughout his stay. They were supportive of myself too, as well as him, throughout the entire stay. I cannot thank the team enough for everything. They made a very traumatic time so much better. Side note am told bed was comfy + food/coffee/cake were great!

My mother has been here for 3 years. I have a good relationship with the staff who always keep me updated either by phone or email depending on the circumstances.
When visiting we are always made to feel welcome by all staff which is very much appreciated. My mother who has Alzheimers also says how well staff look after her including the food.

Whilst it doesn't affect the star rating there is sometimes an issue with parking but there is a free car park 500 yards away.

friendly and caring staff make it an enjoyable experience.
She loves the activities, especially any that involve singing, and joins in all the outings possible.

My mother has been at Redcot since November 2022. She does now refer to Redcot as home which indicates how well she regards being there. She always praise the staff for being helpful and cheerful and enjoys the atmosphere with many opportunities for the residents to meet and share activities and outings. I would thoroughly recommend Redcot to anyone needing a caring environment to live in.

Thank you so much for the care, affection you gave to my husband. The welcome we just received on our arrival was so welcoming, smiles making my husband feel he would be well looked after. The staff always greeted warmly. His bedroom was just great, overlooking the gardens and a lovely print of a river over his bed. He was a great fisherman, and loved the garden. Thank you all so much.

I was reluctant to put my father into a care home; however, since he's been a Redcot, he has flourished. The staff and management are superb, caring and supremely professional, lovely atmosphere. All the residents seem happy, grub's good

We thank the Bradbury Day Centre Staff from the bottom of our hearts for all the great care they have given to both mum and dad over the years, it has been such a big part of their lives attending the Day Centre and has always been so reassuring knowing that whilst they were in the care of the Bradbury Day centre staff they would be well looked after, having fun, being well entertained and being fed and watered. Would highly recommend.

I stayed in Bernard Sunley Home for four days. This was respite care to allow my wife to go on a short break. I was very impressed by the home. It is well-run, and the staff all seemed friendly, caring, and interested in me. They were all very helpful whenever I had any special requests or needs. I would have no hesitation in staying at Bernard Sunley again and would recommend it to others too.

Review of The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home from Peter P (Husband of Resident) published on 7 April 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
From the very first day my wife moved into the home, everyone at Bernard Sunley has given the most extraordinary level of loving care and dedication to make sure she felt at home. Every aspect of the home from the various lounges, the food, the entertainment and activities were outstanding. Having been my wife's full-time carer for sometime, my daughters and I were very apprehensive in giving that responsibility to strangers but Bernard Sunley widely exceeded our expectations and created a warm, friendly and home-from-home environment that gave my wife the dignity and love that was so important to us.
In the very stressful last few days my wife was with us, it is difficult to describe how magnificent everyone was to all the family. It really felt as though everyone was part of one big family.

No one wants their loved one to go into a care home but if that becomes inevitable, I cannot praise Bernard Sunley highly enough and would recommend them without reservation.
