Have only been once as my sister as only recently moved in. My sister was happy and smiling as I have not seen for a long time. The home is so beautiful inside and out. We were made to feel very comfortable. Staffing very friendly and accommodating.

I stayed in Bernard Sunley Home for four days. This was respite care to allow my wife to go on a short break. I was very impressed by the home. It is well-run, and the staff all seemed friendly, caring, and interested in me. They were all very helpful whenever I had any special requests or needs. I
would have no hesitation in staying at Bernard Sunley again and would recommend it to others too.

Although it was only the briefest of stays, the kindness of the staff was so wonderful. In a stressful "end of life" scenario, they helped our situation, and we will always be truly thankful.

Incredible caring staff who have worked here for ages and are genuinely caring .
Fantastic end of life care with a totally beautiful prayer for my mum after she had died.
This was such a genuine moment from a wonderful nurse.

Can't recommend enough.

From the very first day my wife moved into the home, everyone at Bernard Sunley has given the most extraordinary level of loving care and dedication to make sure she felt at home. Every aspect of the home from the various lounges, the food, the entertainment and activities were outstanding. Having
been my wife's full-time carer for sometime, my daughters and I were very apprehensive in giving that responsibility to strangers but Bernard Sunley widely exceeded our expectations and created a warm, friendly and home-from-home environment that gave my wife the dignity and love that was so important to us.
In the very stressful last few days my wife was with us, it is difficult to describe how magnificent everyone was to all the family. It really felt as though everyone was part of one big family.
No one wants their loved one to go into a care home but if that becomes inevitable, I cannot praise Bernard Sunley highly enough and would recommend them without reservation.

My mother has been a resident since July 2023. All the staff have always been excellent however when my mother sadly passed away in February, they went above and beyond. They were all so caring and kind. Myself, my sister and my father all felt so cared for and the love they showed towards my late mother
was so touching. Words can't express our appreciation. Thank you.

Redcot Residential Care Home

from Maryanne B (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 March 2025

As a family we had to find a respite home that suited our Dad who had been very poorly in hospital. A viewing was completed and we felt this was the home we would place Dad in, as we were confident he would thrive.
All the staff were very welcoming and hard working. Dad settled in very quickly and
enjoyed all aspects of his three week stay at Redcot.
He had a lovely room that looked out onto the South Downs, he loved the view. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and the activities were great for Dad to participate in, especially the singing.
Redcot offer a day visit, which is a brilliant idea and we will definitely use the service.
Thank you to all at Redcot for your care and attention.

My mum received palliative care at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home at the end of her life. It was excellent and across all areas, nursing, nutrition and housekeeping. All staff were welcoming to her and the family, being responsive and communicating any changes, seeking permissions
when needed. At the end of her life, Mum was treated with kindness, care and compassion. Thank you.

The whole team at Redcott are great, my mother has been a resident for over 12 months. During that time she has been so well cared for. The new Manager is a fantastic professional and without doubt, Redcot is in great hands and the high levels of care will continue. We know my mother is in the the right
place with the right people. Key to the success of Redcot and a perfect indicator of any well-run organisation is the fact that staff turnover is minimal.

Mum has been a resident for just over one year. The staff are very caring and friendly and Mum feels as though she is in a comfortable home rather than an impersonal hotel. She is encouraged to join in the multiple activities which keep her entertained and adds stimulation to her failing memory. We
are very pleased she chose this home when living alone became lonely and too much for her.

The Bradbury Centre is amazing, all the staff are so enthusiastic, professional and totally on top of their game when it comes to caring for a very vulnerable group of much-loved relatives. The group activities encourage engagement/interaction but nothing is pushed, the meals are amazing and it's a
very bright homely environment, with great facilities. It's a great place for mum to be a mum and have her independence in a safe environment away from the constraints of her normal routine. As mum would put it simply brilliant!

We moved Mum from another Surrey care home, which was good, but wanted her nearer our location and Redcot met that requirement. As a huge bonus Mum loves it at Redcot, especially the entertainment and social aspect of the home. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere with all staff and residents and
the location and grounds are superb. Changing or just choosing care homes for loved ones is a big emotional decision for a family especially the proposed resident too. At Redcot we felt comfortable from the beginning and the manager visited Mum at her previous home to understand her personal needs and also her care needs from the staff at that home. The manager hit it off with Mum from that meeting and that made the transfer and settlement at Redcot so much easier.

My mother was at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home for a year and three quarters. At all times, she was cared for and treated with great consideration, kindness and much medical professionalism and skill. What I most appreciated about Bernard Sunley was the all around atmosphere of compassion
and cheerfulness - they couldn't have been kinder or more willing to look after my mother.

My husband transferred from another care home at the beginning of June. He has been given lots of stimulation i.e. out of bed! And into his chair or wheelchair. Taken to the dining room. He is much happier and alert most of the time. There are always staff members around. I feel very confident in the
care he is having. The atmosphere is very good. The brightly coloured picture and murals are lovely. The cafe is great to take him for a coffee.
