I stayed at Nowton for six weeks respite care. It is a lovely old building set in wooded area, very peaceful. Staff go out of their way to help but it is not a care home as such and one needs to be aware of the actual services provided. Care services such as help with bathing or mobility issues are contracted by you with an independent care company....

My mum has been a resident of Nowton Village for nearly a year now. I cannot recommend and thank all the staff enough for the care, attention and warmth they have shown and continue to show. Our experience at Middleton House has been mixed although the overall experience is good. We have put 'satisfactory' against 'treated with dignity' because although the office staff are wonderful, care staff were on the whole poor, with little regard (from some) for the person in their care, talking about my mother as if she wasn't there.
