The home is pleasant and has a warm feeling to it as you enter as a visitor.
The parking facility at the home is wholly inadequate and residents often have to park on the roads outside the premises, which is difficult when many are disabled, elderly and vulnerable.
There are four entrances to the
home for residents but depending upon the situation of an apartment and where a resident has to park, the walk from the roadside into their apartment can be considerable (200m plus) for an 80year old is a significant distance.
Recently access through the scooter users entrance has been unilaterally prohibited by the manager.
The home has 64 apartments and less than 5 scooters users so this entrance is rarely used. It provides an excellent access route (20m- similar to walking up one's driveway) to some apartments. I have to say I find this decision without any proper explanation - particularly in the poorest, season of the year in terms of weather - to be quite stunning.
