I would not reccommend Callin Court to anyone

The Bistro meant he was able to have a hot meal each day without having to worry about cooking and I could arrange a cleaner through The Limes which meant the flat stayed clean for him. The extra cost of these and the regular daily care visit was well worth the piece of mind. It was so much easier than dealing with 3 or 4 different companies if he'd stayed in his previous house.

The staff at The Hawthorns are very friendly and always go above and beyond to help residents. They always have the time to listen to concerns from relatives and residents. Carers and managers strive to provide individualised care and always update families when required.

We would recommend The Hawthorns highly to anyone.

With my mother suffering with severe dementia, my husband's dementia also increasing and my arthritic spine diminished my mobility, it was too much to cope with until the social worker suggested moving to Yew Tree & Rosewood Courts. With a heavy heart, I agreed. We moved in then found a new way of life surrounded by kind caring staff. I found our 'forever' home which meant a huge burden had been lifted from my shoulders.

I moved into Pilgrims Court in September 2017, and have never regretted doing so. I am very happy to tick 'excellent' for all the ratings. The staff are competent and pleasant and supportive and encouraging, and there is a very happy atmosphere altogether - visitors are made welcome too. I feel very blessed to be at home in such congenial surroundings for the latter part of my retirement.

Our new manager seems to have a loving, caring and homely atmosphere, which means the residents are happy and very well looked after by her wonderful staff. I have a chronic condition which strikes infrequently. This last month has been difficult, but care is in my flat rapidly if I call for help.

The staff are friendly and caring; they support the residents with the varied activities the residents run themselves. The manager has an 'open door' policy; she listens and advises. The residents are good to mix with at regular coffee mornings. The flats are small but can be made 'homely'. Food at the bistro is home-cooked and very tasty. The overall atmosphere of Pilgrims Court is good and welcoming.

Everyone made me feel welcome, I met some lovely people and would like to see them again if possible. I enjoyed the activities, which the activity coordinator organised and worked hard for everybody. I would also like to mention a certain carer who gave me his time when I needed it. All meals were delicious and regularly offered. Staff were helpful, kind, patient and the food mostly delicious and nicely presented.

Southcroft is a wonderful place for my 96-year-old mum. Her need for independence is both respected and encouraged, while discreet careful support is provided as needed. The staff are kind and friendly and mum is starting (she's been there for 3 months) to feel part of a family living in Southcroft.

A recent illness was dealt with swiftly and effectively and communication with me was just as it should be.

Southcroft has various activities which mum can join as she wishes. The flats are very clean and in comparison to others I've seen, spacious. They are well fitted out and provide the level of privacy and independence needed. The building itself has been described by friends as like a big hotel. Its beautifully decorated, clean and importantly doesn't have that 'care home' smell! :-)

All in all the decision to move mum into Southcroft was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Highly recommended.

At the root of our well being are good relationships, when we are good to ourselves and to one another and are blessed by everyday expressions of caring, big or small. This is certainly the case at The Maples.

All the staff working at Assisi Place are helpful, and willing to share information with me and the family when we visit our mum. The principal and concept of assisted living are ideal for elderly people. Mum is very content living at Assisi Place and gets on well with all the staff which is a great comfort to the family. Well done everyone you’re doing a fantastic job in which can be challenging circumstances at times. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Assisi Place to anyone.

When we found Fulwood and saw the standard of the flats available, we thought it was the perfect solution for us because my mother wanted to maintain her independence in spite of increasing fragility. When my mother moved in she didn't need care, although she was struggling with taking her medication, but shortly afterwards she fell and broke her hip. This seriously affected her ability to look after herself and on her return from hospital we arranged a care package with Fulwood. This was done quickly and efficiently, so my mother was able to feel safe while struggling to walk again. The staff do their best to fit around my mother's needs and they provide a great community atmosphere, which makes it much easier for my mother to accept that she needs their help. In fact, she regularly tells me how good, and nice, they are. The only reason I haven't put excellent for the management is because there have been a few hiccoughs with head office, not at Fulwood itself.

Fulwood Court seems to be the only service in this district to supply a one or two bedroom flat in a complex where all levels of care are available as required. The building is well maintained. The care is well organised. On the whole, the carers do a good job, though the level of understanding of the needs of the elderly is variable. This often correlates with the age of the carer. I have found all members of staff friendly and helpful. A good programme of activities is available but residents choose whether or not to participate. To have such a programme of care, tailor-made to the needs of the individual, comes at a cost. It is not cheap.

My mother has been a resident in this care home for almost 3 years. She is very happy and treated with great dignity and respect. I can visit at any time which is not only convenient for me but also confirms that the care is always consistently good. I like the fact that the carers are familiar to my mother as many have been working there for many years. The quality of the food is excellent and has contributed to mums continued good health. The family are included in any decisions and welcomed to activities which are numerous and varied.
