Oaklands’ caring and supportive culture extends to its staff team,
which is characterised by dedication to their work but also to their
colleagues. Many have been with them for years, and others who have
joined the team recently, bring with them fresh, innovative ideas and
a real drive for quality. It really is a happy and supportive working
atmosphere of which to be a part.
Oaklands has a strong
commitment to staff training and development. Training is coordinated
by their dedicated in-house trainer and supported by monthly
team-wide, in-depth reviews of topics. There are opportunities to work
closely with external professionals, including attendance at meetings
and forums, involvement in clinical pilots and close communications
with the visiting Advanced Nurse Practitioner, GP, Occupational
Therapists, Tissue Viability, Infection Control team and our
Commissioners. Shared-learning, championing in areas of interest and
guest workshops are examples of ways self-development is promoted.
Oaklands has a culture that wishes to inspire.
Oaklands’ aim is
to provide consistently high standards of care, treating every
resident with respect and warmth, and caring for them as an
individual. The relationship that Oaklands’ staff develop with the
residents and their relatives and the positive impact they have on
their lives is what makes the work unique. Staff are selected for
their positive attitude, interest and commitment. In return, they
receive an inspiring, supportive and happy environment in which to work.
