Our newly opened, spectacular care home in Chesterfield is currently seeking a Cook to join us on this exciting new journey. Goldwell Manor is a purpose-built home, with the needs of the residents being the inspiration. With a pub for residents, private dining areas and landscaped gardens, this is set to be a glamourous, new home offering residential and specialist dementia support.

What’s in it for our new Cook?
- Pay Rate; £13.42 per hour, depending on skills and experience
- 28.88 hours per week, guaranteed hours on a permanent contract
- 9-hour shifts on a 6-weekly rolling rota (making it easy for you to plan that work/life balance!)
- Based in Chesterfield - S40 4AA
What your daily duties may consist of as our new Cook;
- Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals that are appealing, nutritious and individual to the residents’ like and dislikes, keeping in mind any dietary requirements
- Implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules, joining in with the washing up of pots, pans, and dishes and ensuring the kitchen is immaculate
- Actively engaging with residents in conversation and meaningful activities related to their lifestyle choices, understanding their likes/dislikes and beliefs.
- To cater for ad hoc functions held within the home i.e. Home parties, resident birthday celebrations, etc.
- Maintaining food stocks and reordering where needed
- To comply with all Health and Safety regulations including Food Hygiene and C.O.S.H.H. regulations and ensure compliance from all kitchen staff.

What we are ideally looking for in a Cook;
- Previous experience of catering for a minimum of 25 covers
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- COSHH training and understanding of HACCP
- Ability to plan and prepare creature comforts such as cottage pie, as well as bring new and tasty ideas to the menu
- Have caring, calm and compassionate nature, with the ability to communicate with others on various levels
