There are plenty of places to socialise throughout the home, from the spacious dining areas and lounges where residents can socialise with new friends, to the on-site cafe which is the perfect place to relax when friends and family visit. They've also got hairdressing facilities so residents can look and feel their best, and there’s lots of quiet spots around the home for relaxing, including areas with floor-to-ceiling windows, giving beautiful views of the outside areas.

After visiting a few places it was a no brainer that Goldwell was the only place mum could be. It is quite simply brilliant. Clean, roomy, great staff, everyone friendly, loads of activities. We honestly cannot praise the place enough. Obviously we would rather mum not be here, but given the circumstances there is nowhere we would rather mum be.

She had been moved twice from care homes because of closure and as you can imagine she just would not settle or mix with other residents. However with much coaching and care given by all the staff who are absolutely amazing she is joining in everything and that beautiful smile has returned. Mum moved to Goldwell Manor, in June 2025 when the council run home she was in, was repurposed. She has struggled to accept that she needs support, from having carers in her home and then needing residential care. She is a fiercely independent lady and it really upset her, that she needed help....
The first few weeks at Goldwell were rocky, she wouldnt eat or socialise, but then she moved to a different floor which suited her needs better. She then began to flourish and settle. She has improved so much, its lovely to see. Goldwell Manor has a lovely atmosphere, is spotlessly clean and is decorated beautifully. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff from ALL departments, seem to genuinely care about their residents. Everyone is approachable. I now feel that I can relax a little, knowing that my Mum is settled and joining in. The place is credit to manager Karen and her team. We tried so hard to care at home for our 91 year old mum but her our deteriorating health meant we had to find an assisted living alternative to meet all our needs. Mum suggested respite care for 3 weeks which after a professional and thorough assessment resulted in her move to Goldwell Manor which we knew had an excellent reputation. Within 5 days there, mum still missed her own home of over 60 years but she is sensible and told us that she would be happy to stay permanently in her 'new home', all the carers and staff being very helpful and available when she required care. The home is wonderful, the environment is stunning, lots of activities and facilities of the person centred care, in my opinion, could not be better!

Mum has been at Goldwell Manor since 22nd January. It was a very difficult decision as I never anticipated that either of my parents would ever be in a care home. However this is more than a care home. It is 5* assisted living with carers that treat the residents as part of the family. It is very early days but mum seems settled and thinks everyone is lovely. All the residents appear to be treated with dignity and respect.

My sister moved in here due to the closure of a council-run care home. The difference between the two care homes is like chalk and cheese, this establishment is more like a hotel! It is warm and welcoming and staff are really friendly. All of her needs are met in full (she is mentally and physically disabled). She has said how much happier she is here, and it shows as she now has a permanent smile on her face whenever I see her. The food menu offers a wide variety and choices for all meals. There are various activities that she is able to join in with if she wishes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home.

Welcome to Goldwell Manor!
I started my career working in the hotel industry at every level, however, for the past 25 years I have worked within the care industry. I worked in various roles starting as a Care Assistant, Kitchen Manager to eventually a Registered Manager. In doing these roles, my passion grew for all areas within the care industry as each is equally crucial to the everyday lives of our residents. Through my time working in the care industry I also went on the journey of caring for my mother when she was diagnosed with dementia, until her end of life. This has enabled me to share my knowledge and support a team in providing quality well-being for every individual.
