Chef/Cook – Care Home (Wrexham Area)

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Chef/Cook to join our team at one of our care homes in the Wrexham area.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents while maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.

Hours

This is a full-time contract working on a two-week rolling rota:

Week 1 (36 hours):

• Monday
• Tuesday
• Saturday
• Sunday

Week 2 (45 hours):

• Monday
• Wednesday
• Thursday
• Friday
• Sunday

You will be expected to work alternate weekends and be available to provide additional cover for annual leave and sickness when required.

Part-time hours may also be available through a job share arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for care home residents.
• Plan and prepare meals in line with dietary requirements and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensure food is prepared and stored safely in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Supervise and work alongside a Kitchen Assistant.
• Assist with stock rotation and general kitchen organisation.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook.
• Excellent cooking skills are essential.
• Good food preparation and kitchen management skills.
• High standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of the English language.
• Flexibility to cover holidays and sickness when required.
