Sandringham Care Home is a purpose-built care home in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, providing residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. Our 92-bed home has been thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, dignity and an outstanding quality of life for every resident.

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern care home where high-quality, person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in leading the team and ensuring our residents receive the highest standards of care, comfort and support throughout the day or night.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supervising and supporting the care team.
• Delivering outstanding person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.
• Ensuring residents' care plans are followed and updated where appropriate.
• Administering or supporting medication in line with company policies (where trained and authorised).
• Responding confidently and calmly to residents' changing needs.
• Completing accurate care documentation and effective handovers.
• Supporting new team members and encouraging best practice.
• Promoting a safe, welcoming and caring environment for residents, relatives and colleagues.
• Acting as a visible leader during the shift, offering guidance and support whenever needed.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about caring for older people and takes pride in leading by example.

You will have:

• Previous experience as a Senior Carer, Team Leader or similar role within a residential, nursing or dementia care setting.
• A minimum Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Health & Social Care (essential).
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• The confidence to make decisions and work independently.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.
• A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and support others.
