Job Summary
We are seeking a new REGISTERED CARE MANAGER at
Sambrook House Residential Care Home, Sambrook Newport Shropshire. TF10 8AL
This is an opportunity to lead an award-winning care home.
Sambrook House is a well-established, 28-bedded, award-winning, privately owned residential care home, set in the idyllic village of Sambrook. It has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality, person-centred care in a homely and tranquil and environment.
Following the departure of our long-serving Care Manager (19 years) who is moving to pastures new, we are seeking an experienced and inspirational Registered Care Manager to lead our dedicated team, and continue the high standards for which Sambrook Houseis renowned.
This is not simply a management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys leading from the front, who builds strong relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues, and who understands that exceptional care comes from creating an exceptional team.
ABOUT YOU...
You will already have experience in a management position within elderly residential care and possess an excellent understanding of the regulatory framework governing adult social care.
Most importantly, you will be an approachable, visible and compassionate leader who earns respect through professionalism, integrity and genuine care for others.
You will probably live in Shropshire or Staffordshire, a commutable distance from the home.
EXPERIENCE...
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Care Manager within an elderly residential care setting.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams.
- Sound working knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards, Key Lines of Enquiry and current regulatory requirements.
- Experience preparing for, and participating in, CQC inspections.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding adults, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and person-centred care.
- Strong knowledge of medication management and medicines legislation.
- Experience overseeing high-quality care planning, risk assessments and clinical documentation.
- Proven ability to recruit, mentor, supervise and develop staff.
- Experience conducting supervisions, appraisals and performance management.
- Excellent communication skills with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure.
- Confident IT skills, including electronic care planning systems and Microsoft Office.
- An essential member of the senior management team, working with the directors to continually improve and develop the service.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES...
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Maintaining full CQC compliance.
- Ensuring the highest standards of resident care.
- Supporting and developing our care, housekeeping, catering and activities
- Working closely with the Directors to continually improve and develop the service.
- Ensuring care plans remain accurate, person-centred and regularly reviewed.
- Maintaining robust medication systems and auditing processes.
- Monitoring quality assurance systems and implementing improvements.
- Managing staffing levels, rotas, recruitment and retention.
- Developing staff through training, coaching, supervision and appraisal.
- Managing safeguarding concerns and promoting best practice.
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, GPs, community professionals and commissioners.
- Promoting a culture of kindness, dignity, respect and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring the home is always inspection-ready.
QUALIFICATIONS...
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care, or above
