Senior Care assistant

An exciting new vacancy has become available to work with a highly motivated team of carers as a Senior Shift Leader for Mansfield Care at Pine Villa in Loanhead, for nightshift. This is a new role that has been developed within Mansfield Care to support Qualified Staff in maintaining high standards of care and support throughout the night.

You will be reporting to the Home Manager or Nurse in Charge, ensuring that all residents have their individual care, dignity and respect adhered to at all times.

Your role will include:

·  Leading and managing of all staff on nightshift

·  Implement procedures as laid down by the Company

·  Be able to demonstrate sound decision making in line with the Company’s Call Out Procedures

·  Maintain high levels of care competence

·  Liaise with other professional staff

·  Respond to Incidents/Accidents in an professional and appropriate manner

·  Assess residents individual needs

·  Maintain accurate, person centred records on residents

·  Administer, manage and record medicines in line with Company Policies and NMC Guidelines

·  Monitor Health and Safety on shift

The candidate:

·  Must have a SVQ/NVQ Level 3

·  Must have previous experience at a supervisory level

·  Previous experience of working with elderly residents with varying needs of dependencies

·  Must have a mature, reliable and responsible nature

·  Able to communicate effectively

·  Able to demonstrate sound decision making

Must be flexible in your approach and be available to work nights and weekends. All mandatory and specialist training will be provided as well as full support to achieve in this new role.

Previous experience in a similar role is essential. You will need to provide 2 checkable working references.
