?? The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you'll be an important part of the leadership team on shift.
You'll help ensure the home runs smoothly, support your colleagues and, most importantly, make sure our residents receive safe, compassionate and outstanding care.
You'll be someone the team can look to for guidance, reassurance and leadership.
This is a hands-on role for someone who isn't afraid to get involved and lead from the front.
?? Shift Patterns
We currently have the following shifts available:
- 8:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 8:00pm
- 8:00am – 8:00pm
?? What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Care Assistant, you'll help make sure every shift is a good one.
Your responsibilities will include:
?? Medication
- Safely administer, order, monitor and record medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Complete medication stock checks and returns.
- Maintain accurate medication documentation.
?? Leadership
- Lead by example and provide support, guidance and encouragement to the care team.
- Help colleagues develop their confidence and skills.
- Support the smooth running of the home throughout your shift.
?? Resident Care
- Ensure residents receive safe, dignified and person-centred care.
- Support residents to maintain their independence, choices and quality of life.
- Recognise changes in residents' needs and respond appropriately.
????? Professional Communication
- Act as a key point of contact for GPs, district nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and visiting professionals.
- Ensure important information is handed over clearly and accurately.
?? Organisation & Responsibility
- Ensure care tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Support the home to maintain excellent standards of care, cleanliness, safety and professionalism.
?? On-Call
- Participate in the on-call rota, approximately one weekend per month.
- Provide telephone advice and support when required.
- Where necessary, assist with arranging or covering staff absence.

Qualifications & Experience
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required.
Level 3 is desirable but not essential, as training and development opportunities may be available.
Previous experience working within a care home environment is required.
