The Grange and Elm Court is a privately-owned care home registered for a maximum of 43 adult service users with Mental Health needs.

We are currently looking for an Activities Coordinator to join our team.

Our aim at The Grange and Elm Court is to promote and support our services users with a wide range of activities around their own Lifestyle, choices, and past and current preferences. We want to ensure that our service users are able to enjoy the freedom and lifestyle of their choice, whilst receiving support and encouragement which you will play a key part in this.

As Activities Coordinator, you will provide enriching life experiences by coordinating and executing life engagement activities with all of our service users. You will be required to encourage and support the service user’s in ‘Living Life with Purpose’ by focusing on areas such as Physical fitness, Brain fitness, Dining Experiences and Social/Spiritual Enrichment). This opportunity would be a perfect for compassionate individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of others.

What will you be doing: -

  • Complete Lifestyle Support Plan with our service users.
  • Maintain and follow budget.
  • Present in-services/training for staff regarding activities for all levels of functioning.
  • Provide activity materials and train staff regarding dementia residents.
  • Conduct a monthly resident planning meeting.
  • Plan the activity calendar according to the residents’ interests and input.
  • Provide a variety of physical, spiritual, and cognitive activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise planned outings.
  • Coordinate, recruit, and supervise volunteers.
  • Coordinate and prepare activities that staff will conduct.
  • Promote and encourage participation in activities.
  • Work with Home Manager and Kitchen Manager on combined events.

· Full Driving Licence

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Secondary Education alongside a professional skilled qualification pertaining to the role (NVQ in health and social care or equivalent)
  • At least 1 years’ Experience in a Care Home or similar setting

Qualifications and Experience desired but not essential

· Mental Health Training

· Working experience in a mental health environment

This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week, weekend work will also be included on a rolling rota basis or to best suit the service.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
