The accommodation is divided between a gorgeous stone farmhouse which has been converted into a care home for people with mental health support needs and purpose-built apartments. The apartments support people on a semi independent basis, providing care and support throughout the day and night on a medium to long term basis in a structured and safe environment.

The home provides stability and support while ensuring that residents remain active members of their local community.

There is an emphasis on independent living as far as possible, and residents are encouraged to participate in a range of activities and outings with this in mind.

The accommodation is warm and inviting, and there is a large, vibrant garden that residents are able to tend to.

The Grange and Elm Court is able to accommodate short term and long term care, as well as respite stays.

I have lived here for nearly 13 years.
I lived here semi independently but moved to 24 hour care as I needed more help. I enjoy food, there are activities but I prefer my own company and like to stop in my room and watch TV.
I get on well with staff and can always come to them if I have any problems.

I live at The Grange and Elm Court for 3 years. I enjoy living here but I prefer living nearer to my family. I have made some good friends here. I get on with staff. I like to be as independent as possible. I do my own washing. I have my own big bedroom with a double bed and furnishings. I have made
it really homely with ornaments and pictures.

I have been here for just over 9 months and it has helped me to grow up and find who I am. I have ups and downs but they have handled it very well. I feel staff are doing a good job even the management have been good.

I've now been at this care home for the past 5 years and 6 months and can only say it has helped me immensely I feel like I have got my life back the home is always spotless the food is first class the site manager will go out of her way to help with any needs you have the manager at Elm Court allows
you to have your freedom and helps you in any way she can the deputy manager keeps an eye on everything and all the staff who are magnificent and so helpful overall a nice place to stay

I would like to say that in the four times that I have been living here this is the best it has been as I am doing better than ever with my mental health! I would like to say that the manager that was here in two thousand and eight has not changed.

I have been coming to The Grange and Elm Court since 2021, I am currently in a temporary room but as soon as the room I have had is available I will be back in there. The room I am in is brilliant, so spacious and a lovely room (I can't wait to get back in mine though). The care home is, in general,
a lovely place to stay, two carers are, in my opinion, the best care workers and will do anything to help you, if I'm ever feeling down they take time to sit and chat and reassure me that everything's going to be okay, they are a credit to The Grange and Elm Court, I have nominated one for a rising star award, I wish that I could pick both but I can't. The manager is so great too, she is so accommodating and has helped me through a lot of breakdowns and helped me come through the other side. Thank you so much to the manager and thank you.

For someone in my brother's position (alcoholic - recovering) it has been a very humbling time. Made him realise how much he had and so little many of the people here have. though the staff are amazing and very supportive to everyone equally. The Grange and Elm Court is run very professionally with
such care.

Nice gardens. Well kept up with by the staff, need more equipment though Recently been updated. Fire alarm pretty dodgy. It'd be nice if we could pay for takeaway for those who don't have money to spare. Good facilities for home, example. telephone.

Usually, more than good, but when not wanted, it happens anyway. My illness, my problem. Very good how they tend to take the lead, with phoning the doctor etc. Found I have more problems than I thought. Good people to rely on, when needed.

Over the last 11 to 12 years my nephew has been at The Grange and Elm Court, he was always looked after very well. In the last year, he was not well and the care he was given by the management and staff was excellent. There was always a warm welcome when we visited. Sadly he passed away in December,
after the funeral in January we were asked back to the home and were given refreshments from the management and staff.

"I started working at The Grange and Elm Court in November 2003, beginning my journey as a domestic assistant. Over the years, I have progressed as a care assistant, senior carer, team leader and deputy manager, before becoming the Home Manager of this amazing home. Never in my wildest dreams imagine that I’d end up here today.


I have been the very proud registered manager of the service for the last 10 years, and have completed a total of 20 years service. I have loved every moment, too. Over the years I have undertaken numerous training and development courses, including NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care, which led me onto the advanced level apprenticeship in management, in 2022 I passed my NVQ Level 5 Diploma and am also a qualified first aider and a trained fire Marshall at the service. I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning as I strive to provide the very best care that I can.


Everyone who knows me understands that The Grange and Elm Court, and its amazing residents are my life. I absolutely adore the people who live here, and could never see myself working anywhere else. Since managing the service I have achieved two ‘Good’ CQC inspection ratings, which is an achievement I am exceptionally proud of. Over the years, I know I have become a stronger person. I remain totally grounded with a positive attitude. With my strong northern accent, I have a personality that gets on with everyone I meet. The home is where my heart is - we really are one big family here. I think the world of my staff too, and am so proud of them all. Our home is all that it is because of them.”
