For someone in my brother's position (alcoholic - recovering) it has been a very humbling time. Made him realise how much he had and so little many of the people here have. though the staff are amazing and very supportive to everyone equally. The Grange and Elm Court is run very professionally with such care.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry we scored so low on activities. As well as inhouse activities, we are hoping we can do more in the coming weeks and months as restrictions ease and the local area is a safer place for us all to enjoy.

Usually, more than good, but when not wanted, it happens anyway. My illness, my problem. Very good how they tend to take the lead, with phoning the doctor etc. Found I have more problems than I thought. Good people to rely on, when needed.

Nice gardens. Well kept up with by the staff, need more equipment though Recently been updated. Fire alarm pretty dodgy. It'd be nice if we could pay for takeaway for those who don't have money to spare. Good facilities for home, example. telephone.

Over the last 11 to 12 years my nephew has been at The Grange and Elm Court, he was always looked after very well. In the last year, he was not well and the care he was given by the management and staff was excellent. There was always a warm welcome when we visited. Sadly he passed away in December, after the funeral in January we were asked back to the home and were given refreshments from the management and staff.

Would like to express how professional and very helpful the manager was.
Nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained and any questions we had were answered and explained.

The property is quite old but is of high standards throughout.

My Mum has been a resident at a number of different places but by far this has always felt like home. The residents and staff are one big happy family. This year my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Although The Grange is not a nursing home the staff were outstanding in their care for her, allowing her to end her life with dignity in her own home. Thank you to the Management and Staff for all the years you have cared for my Mum.

My son has just moved into the Grange. He was previously well cared for in Derbyshire, but he wanted to come back to his hometown.
He is very happy at The Grange and he is enjoying his meals. He is given his tablets regularly and care has been taken to improve the eczema on his hands, which were very bad when he arrived. Due to regular meals, he is looking more healthy.
He is also being helped to regulate his spending habits, and this is not an easy task for the staff, but they are doing their best to help.

They are very helpful when I telephone to ask how he is progressing.

Following my son's recent respite visit I cannot recommend The Grange and Elm Court highly enough, the staff were kind and caring and made him feel at home, this is the first time he has been in respite but he thoroughly enjoyed his stay and this is a credit to the staff. We would certainly use The Grange and Elm Court again, they gave us the piece of mind so we could enjoy our holiday.

Having lived at the Grange for 11 years. I can say that the staff and management have helped me greatly. I was a mental and physical wreck when I first arrived. They have worked with me to patiently restore most of my health.

"I started working at The Grange and Elm Court in November 2003, beginning my journey as a domestic assistant. Over the years, I have progressed as a care assistant, senior carer, team leader and deputy manager, before becoming the Home Manager of this amazing home. Never in my wildest dreams imagine that I’d end up here today.

I have been the very proud registered manager of the service for the last 10 years, and have completed a total of 20 years of service. I have loved every moment, too. Over the years, I have undertaken numerous training and development courses, including NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care, which led me onto the advanced level apprenticeship in management, in 2022 I passed my NVQ Level 5 Diploma and am also a qualified first aider and a trained fire Marshall at the service. I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning as I strive to provide the very best care that I can.

Everyone who knows me understands that The Grange and Elm Court, and its amazing residents, are my life. I absolutely adore the people who live here, and could never see myself working anywhere else. Since managing the service, I have achieved two ‘Good’ CQC inspection ratings, which is an achievement I am exceptionally proud of. Over the years, I know I have become a stronger person. I remain totally grounded with a positive attitude. With my strong northern accent, I have a personality that gets on with everyone I meet. The home is where my heart is - we really are one big family here. I think the world of my staff too, and am so proud of them all. Our home is all that it is because of them.”
