Very happy with mother's care the staff are excellent friendly and take time to chat with mum. The activity lady Kerry comes up with several different things for the residents to participate in. The food is of a good standard and the home is undergoing a refit so looks nice and new

My sister loves it at Abbey Court, the place and the staff. Would be nice to know when her room is going to be refurbished as a lot of the place has been. She's a bit concerned about moving out of her room while it's being done.

Staff are always polite and ready to help. They treat my mum like a friend and look after her well. They keep me up to date with phone calls and have helped with hospital appointments. If I need to ring and ask questions they will help. The service is much better now that there are dedicated staff on reception

Review of Abbey Court Nursing and Residential Home from D W (Son of Resident) published on 1 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The staff at the home are caring and attentive, displaying levels of patience with the residents consistent with hopes and expectations despite the challenges presented by the conditions of most of the residents. They always react quickly to problems - notably residents' health issues - and inform relatives promptly, although subsequent updates can be a little sporadic and we have had some difficulties getting responses at weekends when administrative staffing levels are reduced. Initially the interior of the home's physical appearance was rather "tired" but the investment made since the change of ownership has resulted in welcome improvements. Hopefully this initiative will continue to cover the residents' rooms. Overall though, we have no significant complaints about the home or the standard of care it provides.

Reply from Lesley Bennett-Collins, Registered Manager at Abbey Court Nursing and Residential Home

Thank you for your kind words which I will relay to all the staff. We appreciate your comments and we are also pleased with the home improvement's and are making good progress which will include all the bedrooms.

Review of Willowdale Care Home from C F (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Willowdale is a lovely care home, mum has been a resident for many years and is extremely happy there. The staff are caring and attentive to her needs, they even put up with her singing!!! Thank you Susie and Chrissie for making her smile, she does have a good sense of humour and likes a bit of banter even when she's in pain.
The food is all freshly cooked and there is a good choice on the menu every day. The housekeeping staff do an amazing job keeping everywhere clean and tidy, mums room is always immaculate.
The activities coordinator organises lots of things to keep everyone entertained, it's nice to see photos on the social media page of what has been going on. The hairdresser Caz visits weekly and all of the residents look happy when she arrives, mum loves her head massages.
The staff are all very approachable, the manager Diane and assistant manager Michael are always available should we need to talk to them either by phone or in person.

Communication is very good.

Review of Abbey Court Nursing and Residential Home from J R (Sister of Resident) published on 27 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My brother was seriously not coping living alone and quite unwell when he came into Abbey Court.
This was February 2026.
It took him several weeks to settle but ,with the kindness and care given to him ,then looked so much better both physically and mentally.
He now has his room surrounded with paintings he has created in the past so it feels like a new home .
Arrangements have been made recently so that his medical care eg repeat injections care been administered in the care home which is very helpful.

He has had also good conversations with the part time weekend staff who bring extra insights into the home.

We cannot comment on activities as we haven't witnessed any,

Don't know charges as we aren't involved in this side of care.

My mum's journey which resulted in her being moved into the home was a very difficult one. Her dementia means she can be challenging but the staff from my experience handle her with care and compassion. Any concerns have been dealt with & communication is good. The home is comfortable and clean and mum is well fed and hydrated. Recently a new entertainment lady has been engaging mum with various activities including knitting and I really appreciate her efforts.

I would thoroughly recommend Redmount Residential Home, from the moment you walk through the door your warmly welcomed from the lovly manager and the very helpful receptionist. The staff are all so friendly and approachable. The clients are so well looked after for all their individual needs. There were no complaints about food, with cups of tea and other drinks always available. The home is clean and bright with a weekly activity planner, with allsorts of different things going on for the residents. My Mum stayed here for a few weeks respite from hospital, I would have no worries or concerns at all if she had to return one day

My aunt went into Rider House for respite following a fall at home and breaking her ankle. Despite saying she would never go in a home she decided to stay at Rider where the care, food and activities is 1st class. With all the support of the wonderful staff and manager Amanda she has not had any more falls and is very happy, safe and very care for, she has made a lot of friends and I would have no hesitation in recommending Rider House to anyone.
