I would thoroughly recommend Redmount Residential Home, from the moment you walk through the door your warmly welcomed from the lovly manager and the very helpful receptionist. The staff are all so friendly and approachable. The clients are so well looked after for all their individual needs. There
were no complaints about food, with cups of tea and other drinks always available. The home is clean and bright with a weekly activity planner, with allsorts of different things going on for the residents. My Mum stayed here for a few weeks respite from hospital, I would have no worries or concerns at all if she had to return one day
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThank you for your review, it is really lovely to hear you were happy with the care we provided during your Mums short stay with us. We hope Mum is doing well at home and we all send our love.
I will be sure to share this feedback with the staff team.

My aunt went into Rider House for respite following a fall at home and breaking her ankle. Despite saying she would never go in a home she decided to stay at Rider where the care, food and activities is 1st class. With all the support of the wonderful staff and manager Amanda she has not had any more
falls and is very happy, safe and very care for, she has made a lot of friends and I would have no hesitation in recommending Rider House to anyone.
Reply from Amanda Bisson, Registered Home Manager at Rider House Nursing HomeThank you very much for your lovely feedback. The staff and I are delighted that your aunt has settled in and is doing so well. It is our pleasure to have her in our care. Amanda

An excellent care home. Staff care genuinely for every resident and do their best for them all. So much care and effort is put into making the premises inside and out, look lovely, with every special occasion celebrated by amazing displays. We have 100% confidence that our mother is looked after and
shown respect.

We have two friends in Redmount and have been impressed with the running of the home when we have visited. The managers are very personable, helpful and caring. The home is very clean, the kitchen looks clean and tidy. The carers helpful and considerate. Our 2 friends, one bedridden, one walking, are
happy there. In fact, one, has flourished since he's been in Redmount. We always enjoy our time visiting, chatting with the managers, a pleasant visit we look forward to.

We have been overwhelmingly impressed by Redmount in every way and can't fault it. Within a week of dad staying at the home we saw a remarkable difference in his demeanour and appearance. Whereas before dad was confined to his bed for more than 20 hours a day, he is now up and about from morning till
bedtime. He's no longer depressed and has got his 'spark' back. His every need is being taken care of and he's thoroughly enjoying the food, association and entertainment, so much so he doesn't want to come home and is hoping he can remain at Redmount permanently. He speaks very highly of all the staff and as family visiting we are very impressed by the care and friendliness of everybody. For anyone considering a carehome for their loved one - if you are wanting somewhere thats clean, friendly, caring and that has excellent activities and entertainment, then we couldn't recommend Redmount enough. 5 stars!

Julie on reception is lovely and helpful. The care staff are great at their jobs, showing respect to residents. This includes Andrew. The manager is rude, argumentative, and dismissive. I have repeated my request many times for my husband to be allowed to wear PJs in bed as he's cold, only to be told
that's not the home's policy. T-shirts and knickers/pads only to be worn in the day. My husband is always in bed. Also his food is not liquidised as he prefers so he's spitting out lumps of food which puts him off eating.
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThankyou for your review, we welcome all feedback good & bad as it helps us shape the service to be the best we can.
I am so sorry to hear off some of your dissatisfaction with your husbands stay, I don't feel it is appropriate to go into details regarding your husbands care on a public forum, but would love the opportunity to discuss this with you in more detail and to explain our rationale for why we were not able to do some off the things you asked us to.
Please do let me know when you are free to discuss this and I will assure you of my full attention.

When my mum had a spell in hospital due to a fall a number of nurses recommended Rider House which then prompted us to approach the care team to visit to see for ourselves
I could not recommend Rider House highly enough. After a very bad and deeply upsetting stay in another home,my mother is now looked
after amazingly. All the staff are so helpful and caring, and go above and beyond to make sure all my mums needs are met .Now i sleep at night knowing she is being taken care of. The food is prepared by an amazing chef cooking the most delicious meals and she is an excellent baker. Mum loves sweet treats! The management team are clearly focused on providing excellent care and this focus can be seen across all of the homes staff. They all care for the residents needs and are always cheerful and positive in the way they approach my mums needs. Care is first class.
Reply from Amanda Bisson, Registered Home Manager at Rider House Nursing HomeThank you very much for your lovely review, it is most appreciated and I will ensure that all staff are made aware of the compliments paid. It is an absolute pleasure to be involved in the care of your lovely Mum who has settled very well and brings a smile to all the staff with her delightful chatter.

This was my first experience of respite care. I found the staff treated me - as all the residents - with dignity and respect. As I have one or two dietary needs, the kitchen staff negotiated with me to ensure they were met. All residents felt it was their home - not an institution. The manager was also
very approachable. If I ever need residential care, although I'm currently out of area, this is very much the type of home I would wish to go to.
Reply from Amanda Bisson, Registered Home Manager at Rider House Nursing HomeThank you Joy for your kind words and positive feedback. My mother-in-law moved into Redmount at the start of 2026 and remained there until she passed away in mid April. She seemed happier than we had seen her for a long time and had built some great relationships with the staff. The staff took fabulous care of her at a very difficult time for the family
when we lost another family member, we were able to not worry about her as she was being very well looked after. She especially loved the animal visits to the home and we have some special photos as memories.
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThank-you for such a lovely review at a difficult time, we really appreciate your kind words. It was an honour to look after your mother-in-law and I am so happy to hear we were able to meet your expectations.

I feel happy we chose Cedar Court as the care is good and the staff always friendly and welcoming. They have tried hard to find out about my husband's interests, where he's lived and what he's done, so they can engage with him and help settle. I like the range of activities they do, plus entertainment
from time to time. Keeps the residents occupied and they seem to enjoy it all. The staff go to great lengths to put on a special programme or sport on the TV if asked. Altogether the home has a good happy atmosphere, plenty going on and I would recommend.
