Had a lovely visit with a family member living at Redmount. The staff and friendly and accommodating. Scott was professional but warm when talking with us. My relative doesn't want to leave! Amazing care home compared to many I've volunteered in or visited friends and family in.
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThank you so much for your lovely review of Redmount, I will be sure to share this with the team. It is a pleasure looking after your loved one.

We have been overwhelmingly impressed by Redmount in every way and can't fault it. Within a week of dad staying at the home we saw a remarkable difference in his demeanour and appearance. Whereas before dad was confined to his bed for more than 20 hours a day, he is now up and about from morning till
bedtime. He's no longer depressed and has got his 'spark' back. His every need is being taken care of and he's thoroughly enjoying the food, association and entertainment, so much so he doesn't want to come home and is hoping he can remain at Redmount permanently. He speaks very highly of all the staff and as family visiting we are very impressed by the care and friendliness of everybody. For anyone considering a carehome for their loved one - if you are wanting somewhere thats clean, friendly, caring and that has excellent activities and entertainment, then we couldn't recommend Redmount enough. 5 stars!
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThank you so much for your lovely review, it means a lot to us here at Redmount. Your Dad is doing amazingly well and it is a pleasure to be able to support him and the wider family. Thank you for entrusting us to look after your Dad.

Julie on reception is lovely and helpful. The care staff are great at their jobs, showing respect to residents. This includes Andrew. The manager is rude, argumentative, and dismissive. I have repeated my request many times for my husband to be allowed to wear PJs in bed as he's cold, only to be told
that's not the home's policy. T-shirts and knickers/pads only to be worn in the day. My husband is always in bed. Also his food is not liquidised as he prefers so he's spitting out lumps of food which puts him off eating.
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThankyou for your review, we welcome all feedback good & bad as it helps us shape the service to be the best we can. I am so sorry to hear off some of your dissatisfaction with your husbands stay, I don't feel it is appropriate to go into details regarding your husbands care on a public forum, but would love the opportunity to discuss this with you in more detail and to explain our rationale for why we were not able to do some off the things you asked us to. Please do let me know when you are free to discuss this and I will assure you of my full attention.

When my mum had a spell in hospital due to a fall a number of nurses recommended Rider House which then prompted us to approach the care team to visit to see for ourselves
I could not recommend Rider House highly enough. After a very bad and deeply upsetting stay in another home,my mother is now looked
after amazingly. All the staff are so helpful and caring, and go above and beyond to make sure all my mums needs are met .Now i sleep at night knowing she is being taken care of. The food is prepared by an amazing chef cooking the most delicious meals and she is an excellent baker. Mum loves sweet treats! The management team are clearly focused on providing excellent care and this focus can be seen across all of the homes staff. They all care for the residents needs and are always cheerful and positive in the way they approach my mums needs. Care is first class.
Reply from Amanda Bisson, Registered Home Manager at Rider House Nursing HomeThank you very much for your lovely review, it is most appreciated and I will ensure that all staff are made aware of the compliments paid. It is an absolute pleasure to be involved in the care of your lovely Mum who has settled very well and brings a smile to all the staff with her delightful chatter.

This was my first experience of respite care. I found the staff treated me - as all the residents - with dignity and respect. As I have one or two dietary needs, the kitchen staff negotiated with me to ensure they were met. All residents felt it was their home - not an institution. The manager was also
very approachable. If I ever need residential care, although I'm currently out of area, this is very much the type of home I would wish to go to.
Reply from Amanda Bisson, Registered Home Manager at Rider House Nursing HomeThank you Joy for your kind words and positive feedback. I will share the feedback with all staff who will be delighted to hear from you. I do hope that you will visit us again in the future but in the meantime do keep in touch. Again many thanks and very best wishes. Amanda

My mother-in-law moved into Redmount at the start of 2026 and remained there until she passed away in mid April. She seemed happier than we had seen her for a long time and had built some great relationships with the staff. The staff took fabulous care of her at a very difficult time for the family
when we lost another family member, we were able to not worry about her as she was being very well looked after. She especially loved the animal visits to the home and we have some special photos as memories.
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThank-you for such a lovely review at a difficult time, we really appreciate your kind words. It was an honour to look after your mother-in-law and I am so happy to hear we were able to meet your expectations. We miss your mother-in-law terribly but happy we were able to pay a small part in her life. I will be sure to pass this feedback to the staff team.

I feel happy we chose Cedar Court as the care is good and the staff always friendly and welcoming. They have tried hard to find out about my husband's interests, where he's lived and what he's done, so they can engage with him and help settle. I like the range of activities they do, plus entertainment
from time to time. Keeps the residents occupied and they seem to enjoy it all. The staff go to great lengths to put on a special programme or sport on the TV if asked. Altogether the home has a good happy atmosphere, plenty going on and I would recommend.

Good quality care by people who understand the reasonably demanding needs of my mother. Visitors always made to feel welcome with a very flexible visting policy. Atmosphere within the home is good with various social areas and good private rooms for peace and quiet if desired.

Excellent facilities, warm and welcoming and friendly. Staff are always polite, helpful and have the patience of a saint. My dad is well cared for, clean, smart well fed and happy. A very pleasant and friendly home, my sister has progressed amazingly since arriving at Redmount a few weeks ago. She is putting on weight and seems to be very happy with where she is. Everyone that you encounter on a visit to see her is very friendly, keeps me informed of her progress, so I am very
happy with everyone at Redmount.

My father has been at Langwith Lodge for numerous years now. The care he has received is second to none. It's been excellent. All staff have been fantastic and if I have had any concerns the manager and team have sorted it immediately. I wouldn't want my dad anywhere else. I highly recommend the Lodge
for anyone, they are all brilliant, all other residents are lovely to.

I can't talk highly enough of the Rider House facilities and more importantly the amazing staff. My father John was admitted to Rider House for end-of-life care. He had been in hospital for a month prior. My only regret is I didn't manage to get him out of hospital earlier and into care. The staff are
caring, authentic, committed and very warm. Many thanks all for making his final days comfortable.

Mum's been in respite for a couple of weeks now. We were very nervous about putting her into a care home, but the staff at Summer Fields have helped and supported us so much during this emotional time, we felt reassured that mum would be happy there ... and she is! We can call them or visit mum anytime.
They answer all our questions fully and they've made us feel like nothing is too much trouble. As for mum, she settled in immediately, which is testament to the team and how they've helped her. There's always something for residents to do, with films, bingo, activies, music and dancing. Mum is so well cared for and we've seen a positve difference in her already. They're able to provide the care for our mum that we simply can't and if mum can't be at home, then Summer Fields is definitely the place we want her to be and her smile says that mum agrees. A huge thank you to all the team x
Reply from Andy Newbolt, Home Manager at Summer Fields Care HomeThank you so much for your amazing comments, this will most certainly be passed on to the rest of the team. This is always lovely to hear that we are making a difference not only to the residents but also to families, putting them at ease during what can only be a worrying time. Thank you

My grandmother was sent here from hospital for respite and she and I decided that she should stay. Despite never wanting to go into care my grandmother is content and genuinely gets on with staff. Despite not being mobile she is encouraged and helped to join in with activities (occasionally as that
is enough for her). Despite being mainly bed bound she's been able to see the hairdresser Opticion and some entertainment including animals visiting. There always seems to be a smiling face around. She was baked a cake for her birthday which was a lovey touch.
Being solely responsible for my grandmother has been a lot for me but the staff have been very approachable and empathetic and always free to chat.
I can't comment particularly on food or facilities because I haven't seen that but I can say my fussy grandmother is looking well here!
Reply from Scott Davies, Registered Manager at Redmount Residential HomeThank you for your lovely review, this means a lot to me and my team and helps ensure we are providing the best care possible. Your grandmother is very much loved by us all and is a pleasure to look after. As always if you ever want to chat my office door is always open.
