Cedar Court was recommended to us. When we went to look around the nursing home, we knew straight away that Mum would be taken good care of. Though Mum only spent a short time at the home the end-of-life care she received was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and her room was
lovely. Cedar Court is an idealic place very peaceful and caring. Surrounded by fields and trees, and the lovely sound of the birds. We cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and support at this difficult time.

The location of Cedar Court is so peaceful. Well away from the main road and surrounded by farmland. Although the building is large, there is always a staff member nearby to attend to the residents. Carers, nurses and management are all present to provide care for the residents. The building is clean
and tidy throughout, including the communal lounges, private rooms and courtyard gardens. The security is also very good, with coded doors throughout. I am very happy that we chose Cedar Court for my Dad. He is in the best place he can be.

This care home is one of the best kept secrets! My mum arrived in June and has received the most considerate and respectful care. All of the team there are thoughtful and consider each individuals needs , never a one size fits all! I have had some experience of other care homes and Cedar Court hits
the mark every time, lots of extra miles are taken. Thanks to everyone

Wanted to say a big thank you to the staff and the care home for the high level of care that was provided for my mum, from arrival she was looked after, cleaned up and settled in quickly. Even though my mum didn't spend long in the home before passing away, we noticed such a visible difference in mum's
appearance. She was treated with dignity and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were treated so well to, and through the hard times of losing our mum, the staff were so supportive. Thanks.

My husband has only resided at Cedar Court for a short time. I have been impressed with a number of things: The quality of furnishing etc. in the bedroom. The quality of food and how they cater for a vegetarian diet. The care and respect for him. How prompt they react to any situation regarding his
needs.

We came to visit during this year's Halloween party with an entertainer performing for the residents. It was honestly the most heartwarming and wholesome environment we have ever witnessed at a care facility.
The carers and nurses genuinely care so deeply for the residents. They were all singing and
dancing together. The joy in the room was extremely moving. What a wonderful family environment the staff there have created.
Well done Cedar family, you are all awesome!

What a difference a day makes! My dad recently moved to Cedar Court Dementia Care Home and within two hours of arrival, he was given a haircut, shave and a shower and transformed back to a man with pride and dignity he deserves. You simply feel the love when you walk through the door. Each and every
member of staff has a smile and greeting for you, they treat residents as if they were their own family. It is truly heartwarming for us as a family to see the level of care and warmth my dad is receiving after a terrible time in his previous care setting. He is back to eating and drinking and smiles all the time. He looks like my dad again. The manager has been a huge support and comfort to us all as a family and has helped make the transition seamless and we are finally able to relax knowing that he is not only cared for but cared about. The care home itself is so bright and calming, and the grounds are lovely. Thank you to everyone at Cedar Court Dementia Care Home who have not only changed dads life, but our whole family’s.

My mum has been at Cedar Court Dementia Care Home a few years now and has always been very well cared for. She is given full support with compassion and dignity and with as much choice as possible, given her individual circumstances. All the staff show Mum genuine warmth and affection, it's comforting
for the family to know that she is so well looked after. There are regular activities and events and everyone at the home is dedicated to providing a safe, happy place for residents.

Cedar Court Dementia Care Home has a warm, inviting atmosphere. The team of staff, carers, always make sure the care is top priority, ensuring Dad is always kept happy and safe. The communication is great between staff to residents and also conversing with family at home when needed. The management
is passionate, kind and understanding and if I ever have any questions or concerns, they always ensure I am fully reassured my dad's care needs are attended to.

The care my late grandfather received whilst at Cedar Court Dementia Care Home was second to none. He was well looked after and everything he needed was provided. It was a difficult time for all the family when he moved in there but the staff helped him settle in and reassured us all the way. They made
the last months of his life happy and comfortable and showed nothing but love and care towards him. The staff truly go above and beyond and we are all very grateful.

My mum has been in Cedar Court Dementia Care Home now since June 2021 and I am very happy with the care she receives there, all the staff are amazing with her as her Alzheimer's can make her very angry and agitated at times. I would and I do recommend Cedar Court to any family looking for care for a
family member with dementia/Alzheimer's, the care is outstanding.

My brother is only 59 but has dementia. Since moving to Cedar Court Dementia Care Home he has been well cared for and is happy. He enjoys the centre courtyard garden which is totally secure. The staff are friendly and approachable. The building might be old but is well-maintained and spotlessly clean.
I would recommend Cedar Court to anyone who needed specialist care in this area.

My father-in-law has been well looked after, the care home has always communicated well with my wife in all aspects of her father's care. They provide a family-orientated, homely environment and when I have visited the home I found it involves the residents in activities within the home and outside
visits.

Having recently moved my lovely sister to Cedar Court Dementia Care Home we cannot believe how welcoming, helpful and kind the staff are to my sister and ourselves.
After a bad experience prior to this placement, we are so pleased with how all staff have welcomed us into their home, their commitment
and care is exactly what we would expect for our loved ones who can be so vulnerable, I leave her now feeling super confident in her care.
My sister seems happier and calmer than she has been for some time, we are pretty sure this is down to the love, attention and understanding of her condition.
Well done Cedar Court.

My late mother was a resident at Cedar Court from June 2021 until she passed away in her room mid-March 2022 following a short illness. The care and support she received right up until she passed away exceeded my expectations. The Cedar Court team treated Mum with great dignity and loved her so well.
They showed equal care towards us as a family. I learned an awful lot from the care home about all that is good and beautiful in human compassion and empathy, and those lessons will remain with me for the rest of my life. Thank you seems too small an expression to convey my gratitude, but it’s said from the depths of my heart. Thank you too for making Mum’s time with you so special. I had not seen her so happy in many years. You are quite the most extraordinary team of carers I’ve ever had the honour to meet!

I have been involved with the care home for one year and have the following comments. Excellent care in a friendly/peaceful atmosphere. Easy access for visiting once Covid restrictions were lifted. A warm welcome when arriving. A very secure environment where residents can wander. Good communication
between management and families with photos and videos especially during Covid lockdown.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.258)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.258) out of 10 for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.780 for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.78

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.478 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 9 = 0.778

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
