My mother-in-law went into the dementia nursing home in May 2022 (approximately). She settled really well and so quickly with the help of all the staff. She smiles each day and tells us she lives in a "hotel", she is so happy - making us very happy too.
Reply from Tracie Scott, Home Manager at Cedar Court Dementia Care HomeThank you for your lovely review of Cedar Court. I love that your mother-in-law thinks she's in a hotel, perhaps she's on her holiday. She is a pleasure to care for. We are so glad that you are happy with the care.

Staff are always very friendly when we visit, it is clear that our uncle is dearly cared for, they have an excellent rapport with him and know how to have a joke which appeals to his character. We know he is in a safe environment and they contact us when applicable to keep us informed should there be
a need.
We also receive photos and videos which is lovely due to how far away we are.

I’ve worked in the care sector for thirty years. Since my mother-in-law has been here, the staff can not do enough for her and her family. The management are incredible and make the home a happy and safe family environment. All staff are so professional and caring. My mother-in-law has dementia that
is advanced and they still keep her dignity, respect and give her choices and encourage her to choose everything for herself. Empathy and equality are at its best here.
Reply from Tracie Scott, Home Manager at Cedar Court Dementia Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. It's an absolute pleasure looking after your mum and supporting you all as a family. We will continue to do so with love, care and attention. She really is part of our Cedar family.

My mother has been cared for incredibly well. She has always been clean and treated with care and patience despite displaying challenging behaviour at times. The staff have displayed interest in Mum's past life and her likes and dislikes. As Mum's visitor, I have always felt welcome and amongst friends.
There is a lovely team spirit present. In recent weeks, whilst Mum's health has deteriorated, she has received wonderful care and I have had great support too. Having experience of other, similar homes, I am confident Mum is in the right place, receiving the best of care. I would certainly recommend Cedar Court Dementia Care Home to anyone.

From the first contact with Cedar Court Dementia Care Home, Mum was treated with care and respect, she settled quickly with the kindness and encouragement of the manager and care staff and was soon referring to her rooms as her flat. Mum enjoyed activities and food, Mum liked the quiet lounge and sometimes
the main one. Mum suddenly became very poorly and the staff and manager did a great job looking after Mum during this time, they went above and beyond to comfort and help Mum with compassion and dignity and also helped me through the very difficult time. I can't praise them all enough and even though Mum is no longer with us the manager is still in contact with me and my family as they say although Mum is no longer there it doesn't mean our journey has ended with them. Mum was the happiest we had seen her in a long time at Cedar Court,
I would recommend Cedar Court Dementia Care Home to anyone that needs this care.

Every time I visit my mum the staff are always very welcoming and so polite and caring towards all aspects, the weather, Mum's current condition, the fact that the residents will love my dog that I take for Mum to see her and talk about how much they like Mum because she smiles and always appreciates
what they do for her.
I was worried about going on holiday and they just reassured me all is fine and go and live my life because that’s what Mum would want, always so very caring.

Management has been absolutely fantastic through the process of us selecting Cedar Court Dementia Care Home as our chosen home for my father.
They have been more than supportive and patient with our situation and always have been available any time of the day or night to answer our questions and reassure
us. The welcome we received when my dad moved into care recently with them was exceptional, the staff took time to get to know him and we left him feeling a lot less anxious than anticipated, knowing he was in good hands at Cedar Court. We are very much looking forward to this new chapter of Cedar Court being part of our family.

The quality of care is second to none. The manager, nurses and care staff are clearly passionate in their role. The residents are treated like their own family. Time and empathy are also given to loved ones upon visiting. Photos are also sent to families of their loved ones interacting with other residents….Nice

Our aunt is very difficult to deal with, but the staff do their best. She does not realise she cannot have what she wants (a shower) when she wants one, as not an appropriate time for staff to give her a shower. She can be very pedantic, but staff make plenty of allowances for this behaviour.

Throughout the closure to visitors over the Christmas period the staff have been very supportive, by keeping our family informed of how Mum has been doing. We have had regular pictures and videos and they have always answered emails and phone calls in a swift manner. It is fair to say that the staff
are well trained and managed well to provide a loving and caring environment for all residents.
Reply from Tracie Scott, Acting Home Manager at Cedar Court Dementia Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. When the home has been forced to close throughout the pandemic etc it has left us having to think outside of the box for how to keep relatives in touch with their loved ones. Photos and videos have definitely been the way forward, and with the introduction of photo Friday now, we endeavour to send photos each Friday to families to keep them in touch. Your mum brightens our days, only fair that we share these moments with you.

From the moment the manager answered the phone, it was like all my prayers had been answered. It's hard to put into words how grateful we feel. Cedar Court have just cared for our uncle for the past 6-months. They looked after him so well in his last chapter of his life's journey and with so much love,
dignity, respect and humour. Every single one of the staff have always been amazing through what has been a challenging time with Covid. Even through this, they have been truly remarkable. Everything we wanted from a care home was delivered. Even when my uncle passed away, the empathy was above and beyond and will never be forgotten. Thank's again for everything you have done, and please accept our deep appreciation for your kind, patient and nurturing dedication.

Unfortunately, Mum's condition deteriorated a week ago and requiring end of life care, so

As a family, we looked for a care home more suitable for my dad’s needs and closer to home. Cedar Court Dementia Care Home has shown genuine friendliness and caring to my dad and he is well looked after. He interacts well with the staff and has settled in so much better than I imagined. The staff here are always smiling and happy and they welcome you with genuine kindness and compassion. The service they have provided so far for my brother-in-law has been exceptional, they clearly treat all their residents with respect and dignity. He has settled in very quickly since moving in October
2021 and already has a great relationship with all the staff at Cedar Court Dementia Care Home, on visiting him, both myself and my daughter cannot believe how happy he is and how well he has taken to the change in environment. We cannot thank the acting manager and her team enough for making this transition for him so easy and it is so comforting to know he is in a safe place getting the care he needs.

I was looking for a nursing home for my uncle. I needed to move him closer to the family because he had fallen in his home, and I had serious concerns about his health and well being. A friend had recommended Cedar Court Dementia Care Home to me, I made an appointment to meet the manager. From the moment
I walked in, I was greeted with genuine friendliness and caring not only from the manager but all the staff that work there.
I have since moved my uncle to Cedar Court Dementia, I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made. The care and compassion are outstanding not only with my uncle but with all the residents. This is the happiest and most content I have ever seen him in years. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you so much.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.840)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.840) out of 10 for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.840 for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (247 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 293 Ratings = 4.84
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2024

I started off my career in the care industry as a domiciliary care worker almost 20 years ago, before changing to work in residential care. This is where I found my passion for working with people with mental health difficulties and dementia. I have worked my way from care assistant to registered manager. I feel a sense of pride when I have helped someone achieve something, no matter how big or small this may be. The smile on residents' faces means so much. I have faced many challenges throughout my career, but have always battled through to achieve the best outcomes for people, both staff and residents. I hope to inspire my staff to aim high and develop their career in the same way that I have. This is more than just a job to me.

We are more than a Nursing Home; we are a family unit. I have an amazing team to support me, and together we can make such a difference to people’s lives.
