Overall Experience

I feel happy we chose Cedar Court as the care is good and the staff always friendly and welcoming. They have tried hard to find out about my husband's interests, where he's lived and what he's done, so they can engage with him and help settle. I like the range of activities they do, plus entertainment from time to time. Keeps the residents occupied and they seem to enjoy it all. The staff go to great lengths to put on a special programme or sport on the TV if asked. Altogether the home has a good happy atmosphere, plenty going on and I would recommend.

Good quality care by people who understand the reasonably demanding needs of my mother. Visitors always made to feel welcome with a very flexible visting policy. Atmosphere within the home is good with various social areas and good private rooms for peace and quiet if desired.

My sister went to Cedar Court for respite care, she was looked after very well, the staff were friendly and made her feel welcome. She settled reasonably well despite not wanting to be in care and enjoyed her interactions with the carers

Hard to write a review at the moment, as things seem to be changing, for the better. Mum has special dietry needs that is now being sorted. Her clothes forever go missing but that is now being looked at.

Workers I come into contact with are always pleasant and polite. Some like to have a little chat. My grandma's care has not been consistent, and neglected at times. Hopefully this now improves. Patients who are unable to communicate or are not mobile, should not be forgotten about or left longer than necessary for personal care or repositioning.

Review from L M (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 10 February 2025 Submitted via Website

Great care home, feel my nan is looked after fairly well. Sometimes no staff around in the day room, however majority of staff are friendly, easy to speak to, and treat us all like family. Always feel welcome when visiting. One staff member in particular always goes out of her way to speak to us on every visit, whether it's a quick hello, or a general chat. Only downside is when arriving (especially at weekends) when nobody is on reception, the buzzer doesn't seem to attract attention to staff, and therefore, can be waiting up to 15 mins to be let in to see our relatives. Overall though, it's a good care home and I would recommend.

Thank you for your kind comments about the home being great. We will look into the points you raise about staffing in the lounges and reception cover at weekends, I'm sorry you have had to wait and we will address this.

Generally good care and food is good. The manager is very helpful, as are both the receptionists. Regularly do activities with the residents like bingo, dominoes and painting sometimes. Mum likes the exercises which one staff member in particular does a couple of times a week.

My mum is resident at Cedar Court Nursing Home and is really well looked after by amazing staff. Mum moved from another home and has come on so much. Mum loves the entertainment and crafts they have on daily. Every time I visit mum, she looks happy and content.

My wife has been in Cedar Court for the past 5 months and in that time, I have seen a great improvement in her eating and drinking. The staff have worked very hard to make this happen. She is always clean and tidy looking. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, so overall I'm pleased with the care she is receiving.

I can’t thank the staff enough for looking after my husband. The care they gave him was first class, they made all the family welcome and we were able to come and go as we pleased and I could return home knowing he was being well cared for. I would definitely recommend Cedar Court. I’d like to give a big thank you to the manager and her team from all the family.

The manager is clearly dedicated and very approachable. Her team of carers and nurses are very caring and efficient. The consistent provision of permanent staff (non-agency) helps maintain standards. I have every confidence in the good care; my wife is always clean, dressed and kept comfortable throughout the day. The team are welcoming to visitors and keep me well-informed.

Louise JellibiJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I started off my career in the care industry as a domiciliary care worker almost 20 years ago, before changing to work in residential care. This is where I found my passion for working with people with mental health difficulties and dementia. I have worked my way from care assistant to registered manager. I feel a sense of pride when I have helped someone achieve something, no matter how big or small this may be. The smile on residents' faces means so much. I have faced many challenges throughout my career, but have always battled through to achieve the best outcomes for people, both staff and residents. I hope to inspire my staff to aim high and develop their career in the same way that I have. This is more than just a job to me.

We are more than a Nursing Home; we are a family unit. I have an amazing team to support me, and together we can make such a difference to people’s lives.
