What You'll Be Doing
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily living needs while promoting dignity, independence, choice, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with personal care, including dressing, bathing, showering, toileting, grooming, and mobility.
- Supporting residents with high-level care needs in a respectful and compassionate manner.
- Assisting residents during mealtimes and encouraging adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Supporting residents to maintain independence and use mobility and communication aids safely.
- Accompanying residents to medical appointments and community activities when required.
- Responding promptly to the nurse call system and providing assistance as needed.
- Maintaining accurate daily records and reporting changes in residents' wellbeing.
- Reporting incidents, concerns, complaints, or safeguarding issues to the Nurse or Home Manager.
- Ensuring all equipment is used safely, maintained appropriately, and any faults are reported immediately.
- Participating in handovers to remain informed about residents' care needs and any updates within the home.
- Encouraging social interaction, hobbies, and activities to enhance residents' quality of life.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to provide the highest standards of care.
- Following all Care Home policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Essential:

- Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and independence for residents.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a care setting.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).
- Understanding of person-centred care practices.
