Bank Domiciliary Care Assistant

Location: Sandford Station

Salary: £13.64 per hour, plus enhancements for bank / weekends and nights where applicable

Hours: Bank hours, as and when required according to the needs of the business

As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you'll support residents in their own homes within our retirement communities, helping them maintain their independence while receiving the care they need. You'll provide person-centred support tailored to each individual, giving people the confidence and reassurance to continue enjoying the things that matter most to them.

As all care is delivered within our onsite retirement communities, there is no requirement for a driving licence or travel between external locations. This makes the role ideal for those who are passionate about care and want to build meaningful relationships with residents in a single community setting.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide and deliver a comprehensive care and support service including all elements of personal care and hygiene, while maintaining independence and dignity at all times.
• Ensure the social support of residents - e.g., encouraging/facilitating their interests and meaningful activities.
• Assist where required in resident's health and well-being including nutrition, medication/creams, mobility, shopping/health appointments and supporting/welcome their visitors.
• Formulate, review and maintain resident care plans and paperwork. Consistently working in line with regulatory bodies and SMT policies - for example but not exclusive to GDPR, CQC, HSE, Local Authority expectations etc.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across and externally to St Monica Trust.
• Undertake housekeeping and laundry duties as necessary for the resident.

About You:

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the following key skills and requirements:

Essential

• Understanding of the needs of older people, including dementia and complex care needs
• Ability to attend to personal care needs - including helping with food, bathing, toileting
• Good level of IT skills (Microsoft packages)
• Care certificate or willingness to work towards Care Certificate

Desirable

• First Aid, food hygiene and Manual Handling

The role

As a Care and Support Worker, you will be based in our retirement villages, providing domiciliary care to our residents in their home. The role involves helping them with practical tasks such as getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing and hygiene, food preparation and cleaning - whilst building strong relationships with them and making sure they can remain independent.
