The care that my mother has received in Charterhouse has been excellent. During a period of time when her needs have changed the staff have been attentive, diligent and professional. Living some distance away it is a comfort to know that she is surrounded by caring people who work to ensure she has
the quality of life possible.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Jodie, Jodel, Joanne, Keeley, Georgie and all the fantastic staff at Orchards, John Wills House who gave our father the best possible care throughout his time with them. Their professionalism was exceptional. This was particularly valuable during those
first few weeks when Dad was settling in They made such an effort to get to know him and it was clear he felt appreciated and welcomed by everyone..
Their commitment to Dad's welfare in the later weeks of his life meant he was able to stay in his own room where he was comfortable and we are very grateful to Orchards for making sure Dad was cared for at this difficult time with such kindness and dignity.
Reply from Wendy Leaman, Care Home Manager at John Wills HouseThank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. We're so sorry for your loss and our thoughts are with you and your family. It means so much to hear that our team provided exceptional care to your dad and helped him feel welcomed and comfortable throughout his time with us.

We'll make sure your kind words are passed on to Jodie, Jodel, Joanne, Keeley, Georgie, and the entire team-they will truly appreciate knowing the difference they made. Feedback like yours is invaluable in helping us continue to deliver compassionate and dignified care for every resident and their loved ones.

Outstanding care for palliative respite. Care staff and nurses went above and beyond for both my auntie and all of us as her family. Could not have asked for anything more. Only downfall was the early hours of the morning when auntie passed away, her daughter didn't feel very supported (different staff
to who had been in all week). Other than that, absolutely outstanding care.
Reply from Wendy Leaman, Care Home Manager at John Wills HouseThank you so much for sharing your feedback. It was truly our privilege to have cared for your auntie, and we're delighted to know that she received our outstanding palliative care.

I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't feel very supported during the early hours when she passed away. We understand how important those moments are. Please know that we will share your feedback with our care team and use it to keep improving, so we can continue providing excellent care and support in the future.

It was a difficult decision to place my husband into care but his management had become very difficult. Immediately he went into the Russet's care, in particular Encore, he was so well looked after, which put my mind to rest. He could not have been in a better place. The freedom within The Russets
allowed him to wander within the grounds as space was an important element in his well being. The Encore team as a whole and I mean everyone, were exceptional in gauging and managing him in the most empathetic way, understanding his individual needs and moods.
We as a family considered that he was in the best possible place so we have a very high regard for the quality and commitment of the staff of Encore. The openness and freedom to visit as and when we wished , ensured
our confidence in the quality of care and support he and we were given by Encore.
Reply from Rob Bennington, Business Deputy Manager at The RussetsThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We understand how difficult the decision to move a loved one into care can be, and we're truly glad to hear that our team, especially Encore, helped bring you reassurance and peace of mind. It's wonderful to know that the environment, freedom, and personalised support have made a positive difference to your husband's well-being. Your kind words mean a great deal to all of us at the Russets, and we're grateful for the trust you and your family placed in our team.

My father in law moved to Crispin House this year when it was clear he couldn't live by himself anymore. I had limited experience of care homes so didn't know what to expect. When I first visited him, the unit was bright and busy, there was music playing and it was very clean and tidy. We spent time
in the quieter lounge and he told us how nice it was and how good the staff were.

In the subsequent months, I've come to realise what a special place the Russets is. It always feels clean and homely. The staff are cheerful and attentive to the needs of those living there. The House Lead always comes over to say hello if she's there when we visit and she's always in touch with any updates.

My father in law is aware of his failing memory now and, during a recent visit, he said "I don't really have a clue what's going on anymore, but I do know that I feel very safe here". We can't ask for more than that.

Reply from Rob Bennington, Business Deputy Manager at The RussetsThank you so much for taking the time to share this lovely review. We're incredibly proud of the dedication and compassion they bring to The Russets every day which helps make our home so special.

Our experience of The Russets at Sandford Station and Bramley in particular has been exceptional. My father got the best of care by people who took the time to get to know and spend time with him, even during those times when he was something of a challenge. From my point of view I have always felt
included in his care and have been well informed. It has made a tremendous difference to me, living so far away, to know he was being so well looked after. I cannot express my appreciation of what the staff have done to help me with all the things that are over and above their role at Bramley.

From the very off I felt a good vibe about John Wills house. This was exacerbated by the presence and care provided by agency nurse on duty this afternoon (7/11/25) Sue (hope that's correct) She was caring, upbeat and positive. Sue made my wife and I a cup of coffee with a smile, said some very comforting
things during a very difficult time (my dad is receiving end of life care) Sue is a credit to palliative care nursing. Helen and Julie at the reception desk were also very warm and welcoming. Thank you.

SEVERN (S) Would like to review positively but can't. Some care assistants & nurses did their best others the bare minimum. HUMAN WARMTH would have been better than a large room rarely cleaned well. Food unappetising & often cold (teeth often not put in)
The most basic of 'care' with little to no mental stimulation (often just left in bed with loud TV but no hearing aids put in) no personal touch, very little interest, not checked on regularly. Few activities & not enough staff to enable joining in with those run at CQ over the road (which this home brochure sets great store by & fails to deliver) Just 2 small balconies overlooking concrete jungles/building sites; reliant on staff to get there.
A lonely, clinical place Overruled by family re placing my poor mother here which will sadden me always; She died lonely & unhappy. Needs unannounced inspection.

I couldn't have chosen anywhere better for two weeks respite between leaving hospital and going home. Without exception, the staff were kind, caring and thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble and all seemed happy at work. Personal physio sessions improved my mobility and built my confidence to do
as much as possible on my own. My room was comfortable and spacious, with plenty of storage, tv and a well designed ensuite shower room. There was a good choice at meal times and I could help myself to fruit, water tea or coffee at any time. The facilities and activities were amazing. I used the hairdressers, painting studio, cafe, lunch club in the restaurant, afternoon tea and cake in the garden, a singing group and minibus outing to a riverside pub. Sadly I didn't have time for pottery, cinema, spa pool or nailbar. What impressed me was the way service was personalised. On the first day, I was asked if I like to be woken or not, what time I'd like breakfast, if I wanted meals in my room or in the dining room and what I wanted from my stay here. Five star.

The care I received was excellent - let down.
1) By the food - pre-prepared meals - not chef prepared as I was expecting in respite care.
2) The floor in the shower room was cambered the wrong way- so that the shower water did not go towards the drain and flooded the whole floor- making it a death
trap if stood on- useless treading on a towel- this laundry costs must have been incurred.
3) I had hoped for more exercise and mental stimulation.
