Bank Support Worker – Day and Sleep-In Shifts

Blossom House is a small residential care service based in Forest Gate. We support young adults with learning disabilities and additional needs through short respite breaks, permanent residential care and day provision.

We pride ourselves on providing a friendly, welcoming and supportive “home-from-home” environment. We are looking for kind, motivated and reliable Bank Support Workers to join our team.

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
• Have at least one year of UK-based care experience.
• Be flexible, dependable and committed to providing person-centred support.
• Be willing to work a mixture of day shifts and sleep-in night shifts, where possible.

Main duties

• Supporting individuals with personal care while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
• Supporting with medication in accordance with training and company procedures.
• Assisting individuals with meals, drinks and eating where required.
• Encouraging individuals to develop their independence, confidence and life skills.
• Supporting activities within the service, including arts and crafts and other recreational activities.
• Accompanying individuals on community activities and trips, such as swimming, the gym, bowling and visits to local parks.
• Supporting individuals in line with their care plans, risk assessments and personal goals.
• Completing accurate care records and reporting any concerns.
• Working cooperatively with colleagues as part of the wider team.

This is a bank position. Shifts will be offered according to the needs of the service, available work and your stated availability; regular hours cannot be guaranteed.
