Weekend Pattern: Alternate weekends

About the Role

Hazel Bank Care Home is looking for a caring, reliable and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our night team.

As a Night Healthcare Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring our residents remain safe, comfortable and well supported throughout the night. You will provide person-centred care while respecting each resident’s dignity, privacy, preferences and individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents throughout the night.

  • Assist residents with toileting, washing, changing and other personal care needs.

  • Support residents with mobility and repositioning where required.

  • Monitor residents throughout the night and respond promptly to their needs.

  • Carry out regular checks to ensure residents are safe, comfortable and settled.

  • Observe and report any changes in residents' health or wellbeing to the senior care team.

  • Assist residents who wake during the night and provide reassurance and emotional support.

  • Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents.

  • Complete accurate care records and overnight documentation.

  • Follow safeguarding, infection-control, health and safety and care home procedures.

  • Work closely with nurses, senior carers and the wider care team to ensure continuity of care.

  • Able to remain attentive and responsive throughout night shifts.

  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek support.

  • Available to work 36 hours per week, including alternate weekends.

  • Previous care experience is desirable, although training may be provided for the right candidate.
