Moorland Gardens Care Home is a 80-bed facility set in its own grounds just outside of the heart of Luton, Moorland Gardens Care Home is designed to meet a wide range of needs.

Catering for 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and nursing care, service users with a range of mental health and physical disabilities are afforded the best possible care.

Deborah Adams-Robinson and her team of registered nurses, care assistants and general staff work hard to deliver the highest level of care for service users. Languages spoken by staff include English, Polish, Romanian, Punjabi, Hindu and Urdu to aid communication and make service users feel more comfortable at all times.

Job Description

Job Title:  Activities Co-ordinator

Reporting to:  Home Manager

Job purpose:  To plan and implement activities appropriate to Service Users need and requests.

Main responsibilities

Activities

• Help Service Users to socialise within the Care Centre and provide a variety of activities that cater for all tastes . Plan and initiate monthly rolling/individual programmes, and encourage Service Users to maintain pre-existing hobbies. Encourage Staff Members, Relatives and Friends to participate in the Care Centres activities. Accompany Service Users where possible to of site activities which may occasionally take place outwith normal working hours

Communication

Health & Safety

• Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another

General

• Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties. Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence. Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre and Bondcare
