£14.50–£16.00 per hour | 35 hours per week | Permanent
7:30am–3:00pm | 5 days over 7 | Weekends on a rota

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hands-on Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team within our nursing home.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with supervisory experience who takes pride in maintaining excellent standards and enjoys leading, supporting and developing a team.

As our Head Housekeeper, you will play an important part in making that happen.

About the role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our housekeeping service, leading and supporting the team to maintain consistently high standards throughout the home.
We are looking for someone who is visible, approachable and confident in managing a team. This is also a hands-on role, so you will lead from the front and work alongside the housekeeping team as part of the daily service.
part of your role will be building a strong, reliable and motivated housekeeping team, ensuring everyone understands the standards expected and takes pride in the environment they create for our residents.
Your responsibilities will include:
•   Leading, supporting and motivating the housekeeping team
•   Organising daily workloads and ensuring duties are completed effectively
•   Maintaining and monitoring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control
•   Working alongside the team and leading by example
•   Coaching staff and addressing areas where standards need to improve
•   Managing housekeeping supplies and working closely with other departments

What we are looking for
You must have at least one year's experience in a supervisory role, ideally within housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality, healthcare or a similar environment.
You should also have:
•   Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience
•   Strong leadership and team management skills
•   Excellent organisation and attention to detail
•   Good knowledge of cleaning, hygiene and infection control standards
•   Confidence in managing workloads, priorities and team performance
•   Good communication and interpersonal skills
•   A positive, proactive and supportive leadership style
•   A willingness to be hands-on and lead by example

Previous experience within a nursing home or care environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
