Job Summary

As a Housekeeper at EachStep Blackburn Care Home, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our residents. You will ensure that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the home, directly contributing to the comfort, dignity, and overall well-being of the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties across resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and corridors following strict infection control guidelines.

• Handle laundry duties, ensuring resident clothing and care home linens are washed, dried, ironed, and distributed efficiently.

• Maintain a well-stocked supply of cleaning materials and equipment, reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.

• Respect residents' personal space and privacy, ensuring a friendly and supportive presence while working in their living areas.

• Collaborate effectively with the wider care and support team to maintain a safe and pleasant home environment.

We Are Looking For

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or residential setting.

• A strong understanding of infection control, health and safety, and COSHH regulations.

• Compassion, empathy, and a respectful attitude toward elderly residents and vulnerable individuals.

• Reliability, good time management, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a dedicated team.

• Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.
