The care home:

EachStep Blackburn is a 64-bed purpose-built specialist dementia care home situated in the heart of Blackburn. The home provides residential, nursing, respite and end-of-life care, with a strong focus on person-centred support and helping residents lead active and fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments
• Follow residents’ dietary requirements, allergies and food preferences
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Assist with portioning and plating meals
• Check food storage, dates and stock rotation
• Follow health and safety and infection control procedures
• Work closely with the care and kitchen teams
• Ensure residents receive safe, nutritious and appropriate meals

About You

We are looking for a reliable, responsible  Kitchen Assistant who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of providing safe and nutritious meals. You should be able to work well as part of a team, follow procedures carefully and take particular care when dealing with dietary requirements and allergies.
