Our lovely care home Grosvenor House in Hastings is currently recruiting for Bank Cooks. As a Bank Cook, you will:

  • Work in conjunction with the Head Chef, contribute to creating meals for menus which incorporate choice, are balanced and which are suitable to special diets, such as low fat, diabetic or those as a result of religious beliefs.
  • Cater for special occasions within the home
  • Have awareness of stocks and purchases thereby allocating the quantity of materials.
  • Prepare, cook and serve meals. Clear and wash up with the assistance of other staff.
  • Ensure that the kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed by all staff.

To apply, you will need:

  • Relevant food hygiene and food preparation qualifications
  • Experience of serving food in a professional environment
  • An understanding of the importance of food for residents including a balanced and varied diet
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in Managing and supervising staff
  • Able to design appropriate menus
  • Able to work well under pressure.
