Kitchen Assistant - Bank
Location: Elm Grove Care Home
Somerford Road, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 1TX
Salary: £13.10 - £14.10 per hour depending on experience
Contract: Bank - zero hours contract
About Elm Grove Care Home:
Situated on the outskirts of Cirencester, this former private house has undergone an extensive refurbishment in order to make the most of its homely qualities. The home is split into two areas, one for dementia nursing and one for dementia residential. That could be for day care, a couple of weeks of respite or a more long-term move.
Residents receive warm, personalised attention from a team that focus on the person first and their condition second.
A nutritious food menu is tailored to personal diets, with light snacks and drinks available throughout the day and night.
A wide range of activities and entertainment are included in the home's calendar to keep residents active and stimulated such as crafts, cooking, keep fit and live music.

We are looking for an equally passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.
You'll help us make health happen by:

Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents

Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy

Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines

Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You'll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you're comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
