Job Summary

About the role

Bramshott Grange is a 67-bedroom care community in Liphook, rated Good by the Care Quality Commission. We look after up to 67 ladies and gentlemen, and we staff our homes generously, so that our team have the time to give each resident proper attention.

As a Care Assistant — you may know the role as Healthcare Assistant, HCA or carer — you will help the people who live with us through their day: washing, dressing, moving around, eating and drinking, and everything in between. You will keep clear daily records, work alongside our nurses and visiting professionals, and, just as importantly, sit and talk, join in activities, and be the familiar face someone looks forward to seeing.

Every resident is treated as a lady or a gentleman in their own home, with the privacy, dignity and choice that implies.

What we are looking for

Essential

•  A genuine warmth towards older people and the patience to go with it

•  Clear, kind communication — with residents, families and your team

•  Reliability. Our residents and your colleagues are counting on you being there

•  Willingness to learn, and to be trained properly

•  The right to work in the UK

Desirable — but we will train you in all of it

•  Previous experience in a care home, hospital, supported living or home care setting

•  Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or working towards one

•  The Care Certificate

•  A driving licence and access to a car — Liphook is semi-rural and public transport is limited

•  Flexibility across days, nights and weekends

What we offer

Pay and leave

•  £14.02 per hour, with paid breaks

•  Enhanced rates for overtime

•  5.6 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata)

•  Company pension

Day to day

•  Freshly cooked meals free on every shift

•  Uniform provided and laundered on site for you

•  Free on-site parking

•  Excellent staffing levels — we roster to the care, not to the minimum

Rewards and discounts

•  Up to £1,000 refer-a-friend bonus

•  Eligible for Blue Light Card and our own staff discount scheme

•  We pay for your DBS check

Training and development

•  Full induction, the Care Certificate and bespoke ongoing training

•  Clear routes to Senior Carer and Team Leader — we promote from within subject to vacancies

•  Long service and recognition awards

Wellbeing support

•  Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 confidential helpline, legal advice, bereavement support, online CBT and medical guidance
