About Us
Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Hayes Cottage in Hayes. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to provide high-quality, person-centred care. We're looking for a creative, enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to help plan and deliver engaging activities for the residents and staff who call Hayes Cottage home.
The Role
As our Activities Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of social, recreational and therapeutic activities for residents at Hayes Cottage. You'll work closely with residents, families and the wider care team to ensure activities are person-centred, and help ensure the home meets health and safety standards — playing an important behind-the-scenes role in the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of individual and group activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and needs
• Get to know residents individually to understand their life histories, hobbies and preferences
• Support residents to take part in activities in a way that promotes dignity, independence and choice
• Organise outings, entertainment and special events for residents, including festive and seasonal celebrations
• Maintain accurate records of activities delivered and residents' participation and engagement
• Work with families, volunteers and external visitors to enrich the activities programme
• Ensure activities equipment and materials are stored and used safely
• Promote the home's activities programme and its benefits to residents, families and visitors
• Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure activities complement residents' care plans
What We're Looking For
• Previous experience in an activities, leisure, events or similar coordinating role is desirable but not essential
• A creative, enthusiastic and patient approach to engaging residents
• Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
• Good communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
• Experience within a care home, healthcare or similarly regulated environment is desirable.
• A full driving licence is an advantage but not essential.
